Abstract:The invention provides a method and a system for video coding and decoding of high-bit-rate images. The coding method includes that a coding end codes an original high-bit-rate image to acquire a reconstructed image of the original high-bit-rate image to serve as a basic image of a basic layer; a residual image of a residual layer is acquired according to the original high-bit-rate image and the basic image; the residual image is coded to acquire a reconstructed image of the residual image; a reconstructed image of the high-bit-rate image is acquired according to the basic image and the residual image. The decoding method includes that a decoding end decodes according to received code stream information to generate a decoding marker bit, and whether current code stream belongs to the basic layer or the residual layer is judged according to the decoding marker bit to acquire the reconstructed image of the high-bit-rate image. The high-bit-rate image is divided into different levels for transmission, so that the problem of transmission delay or buffer overflow caused by overhigh instant bit rate at a certain moment in the process of video transmission is solved effectively.
