Abstract:The problems of low-voltage at the end of 10kV transmission line in remote rural area can be well solved by the electric energy router (EER). In this paper, the optimal configuration model of distribution network based on different networking schemes of EER are proposed to solve the low-voltage issue for dispersive end consumers in the remote distribution networks. Two typical EER networking schemes are discussed, including the series mode of EER scheme in which the EER performs voltage regulation directly and the parallel mode of EER scheme in which the EER acts as reactive compensator. The effects of the two typical networking schemes are compared by the evaluation indexes of daily total cost, system efficiency, voltage fluctuation and photovoltaic (PV) installation capacity. The results show that the series mode could make the PV installation capacity larger and get the less cost, and the parallel mode could make the system capacity of EER smaller and get the higher system efficiency. Furthermore, the impact of external factors, such as irradiance and load level, on the cost of the two typical networking schemes are investigated. The results show the series mode is more sensitive to the irradiance and have lower cost on different load level than the parallel mode.
