Abstract:The invention discloses novel application of scutelaria baicalemis and baicalin in preparing a medicament for improving learning memory and treating Alzheimer's disease. In the application, the scutelaria baicalemis and the baicalin can improve the learning memory capability of a naturally rapidly aged mouse and a rat suffered from Alzheimer's disease (AD), and can treat AD by inhibiting beta toxicity of amyloid peptide section and other aspects; the baicalin can remarkably improve the sugar metabolism level of the model rat suffered from AD in treating the AD, and can improve the learning memory capability of the rat suffered from AD; neurotransmitter detecting experiments discover that the baicalin can improve the contents of norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin in cerebral cortex of the rapidly aged mice.
