Abstract:Many carrier grade applications require a high availability platform, such as telecommunication systems, nuclear power plants, rockets. A high availability platform can provide reliability, security, upgradeability, scalability and other capabilities to the applications. This paper introduces the key issues when designing a high availability platform, fault prediction, hardware redundancy and fault management, which can be used as the guideline in the design of similar platforms. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract:High availability is a valuable property in distributed systems. The master-slave model is used wildly in data management systems for high performance. However, many master-slave systems still have SPOF (Single Point of Failure) for the single master node. We exploit a generalized solution to meet several common use cases for different master-slave systems. The solution makes the high availability as a service (HAaaS), which uses a shared storage infrastructure to make the master stateless and provides an automatic fail over of high-availability service. We deploy the HAaaS in many master-slave subsystems in our unstructured data management system (UDMS) to make the UDMS highly available. The experiments demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of our solution.

Abstract:Two classical models in distributed environment,symmetrical cluster and unsymmetrical cluster,were introduced.Aiming at the problems in enterprise applications caused by the two models,a distributed model based on data partition was presented,and a new load balance algorithm based on database access was proposed.Two critical threshold values Dmax and VSRT in the algorithm could be obtained by testing and analysis.The model and the load balance mechanism benefit the system with good performance,high scalability and dynamic load balance.They were applied to a financial system which was reengineered from standalone legacy system into J2EE distributed environment.The system architecture based on data partition was implemented successfully and performed very well.

Abstract:Nowadays industry depends more and more on computer system. This fact needs a service that can continue working for a long time, which makes high availability to be the key for solution to server. Many kinds of ways of high availability are described, such as hot standby, cluster, and the strong points and shortcomings of these solutions are described. Then design of a hot standby high available system is suggested, which is based on linux. This system, uses process migration skill to realize the fluent system switch.

Abstract:This dissertation presents the design and implementation of a SOA-based information distribution platform,aiming mainly for highly scalable enterprise services and the efficient information sharing.Adopting service-oriented design principle,this system is used to analyze heterogeneous network information sharing,to achieve a image sharing service and to expand system functions through plug-in client extensions.By studying the demand for heterogeneous network information distribution,this system will design the server and client respectively,implement an efficient combination.This system can serve as a platform for cloud computing implementation model,and through the MVC design pattern can improve the client's scalability and flexibility.Meanwhile,modular design reduces the system's coupling,and the system is characterized by the plug-in management system used to achieve real-time expansion of services.

Abstract:Using load balance technology can enhance servers ability to process data, and let more clients acquire services at the same time under current client-server system mode. Abstract:A double-dispatcher-based load balancing model of Web service cluster was given.The purpose was to solve the problems existing in the current web service cluster.One was that the load index was not desirable enough;the other was that documents distribution was not accurate enough.After making sure of the load index,the load balancing algorithm for the model was put forward.In addition,the preliminary scheme on the servers' instant over loading and fault tolerance was presented.At last,a test on the performance of the model shows that the model has better load balancing.

Abstract:With the introduction of cluster management software, a group of two servers, the non-shared disk array and the integrated mirror image engine, we can realize the server data synchronization, and enable the server system to have a high availability. When any one of the servers fails, another server will immediately automatically substitutes for the function of the breakdown machine, which can guarantee the network do not shutdown in an unplanned way, and ensure the hospital information system operating continuously.

Abstract:This article proposes a design and implementation of a low cost two-tier architecture model for high availability cluster combined with load-balancing and shared storage technology to achieve desired scale of three-tier architecture for application load balancing e.g. web servers. The research work proposes a design that physically omits Network File System (NFS) server nodes and implements NFS server functionalities within the cluster nodes, through Red Hat Cluster Suite (RHCS) with High Availability (HA) proxy load balancing technologies. In order to achieve a low-cost implementation in terms of investment in hardware and computing solutions, the proposed architecture will be beneficial. This system intends to provide steady service despite any system components fails due to uncertainly such as network system, storage and applications.

Abstract:This paper designs and implements a high availability clusters and incorporated with load balance infrastructure of web servers. The paper described system can provide full facilities to the website hosting provider and large business organizations. This system can provide continuous service though any system components fail uncertainly with the help of Linux Virtual Server (LVS) loadbalancing cluster technology and combined with virtualization as well as shared storage technology to achieve the three-tier architecture of Web server clusters. This technology not only improves availability, but also affects the security and performance of the application services being requested. Benefits of the system include node failover overcome; network failover overcome; storage limitation overcome and load distribution.

Abstract:With the recent development and advancement of business growth models, information exchange has emerged as a critical component of computer communication technology. To serve dynamic business models with the latest data, most system architecture tends to retrieve data from back-end systems in real-time. Numerous leading organizations have started to think of or are implementing two different platforms: read cluster and write cluster. In this article, we propose a model that adopts a data streaming system and a data caching mechanism for faster access to real-time and non-real-time data. This system only focuses on providing the read data elements and reducing most of the load in the existing cluster(s). Our mathematical and simulation performance analysis shows a clear distinction and comparison between the current and proposed systems architecture.

Abstract:Web applications traffic demand fluctuates widely and usually unpredictably. The common practice of provisioning a fixed capacity would either result in unsatisfied customers (when the resources allocated to a specific customer are too low) or waste valuable capital investment (when the resources allocated to a specific customer are too much). By leveraging an infrastructure clouds on-demand, pay-per-use capabilities, we finally can match the systems capacity with the demand in real time. Although the static client-side load balancing mechanism has been used by many clusters, it does not suit the cluster which needs to change nodes and load balancing policies in runtime. This paper proposes a dynamic client-side load balancing mechanism. By integrating technologies such as distributed cluster-view maintenance and control flow, this mechanism not only has good scalability but also introduces many dynamic features into the client-side load balancing, providing effective support for the nodes dynamic join and exit as well as the adaptive adjustment of the load balancing policies. Since the framework has been implemented in an open-source JEE application server named PKUAS, this paper also describes some key implementation features and analyzes the evaluation results of the experiments to show the effectiveness of the mechanism from different aspects.

Abstract:In order to deal with the distributed Management Information System(MIS) problems including fast information retrieval and so on,an information system platform based on Peer to Peer(P2P) structure was presented.The node model,the management scheme,and the information sharing flows were given.In order to ensure the exact retrieval and the classified retrieval,an information search method based on distributed hash table and information clustering was given.In order to ensure the distributed multi-replica synchronization,a novel P2P multi-replica synchronization algorithm with a peer-to-peer lock was proposed.And the implement methods and an instance system were given.Performance simulation results show that the platform can share information well,and has effective retrieval and fair fault-tolerant capabilities.

Abstract:The Client obtains the service from the servers via unique channel in traditional C/S architecture,this could hardly realize the disaster-tolerant recovery,and for the existence of single-point failure and low expansibility,thus the traditional C/S architecture could not satisfy the requirement of the high-availability environment. Based on the key requirements of service architecture with high availability,a service architecture with high availability is proposed. The composition of this architecture,the process of the response flow and the choosing policy of the provider are described in detail. In addition,the feasibility for implementing the service with high availability is analyzed.
