Abstract:A new time-series prediction method is proposed using rough set and fuzzy set theories. The rough set theory allows to obtain a linguistic description of time-series, whereas the fuzzy logic theory allows to generate numerical values of the time-series starting from its linguistic description. With this new approach, a reduction fuzzy rule base is generated from the history input-output data pairs to approximate a nonlinearity function The computer simulation results for prediction Mackey-Glass chaotic time series show that this new method is effective and has good performance.

Abstract:Theories of Zadeh's fuzzy sets have emerged as major mathematical approaches for managing uncertainty that arises from inexact or incomplete information. The concept of dynamic uncertain fuzzy set is introduced, which is a generalization of fuzzy sets and uncertain fuzzy sets that have many advantages in dealing with the dynamic and uncertain problems. Some of its basic properties are studied and a characterization of dynamic uncertain fuzzy sets is given.

Abstract:The randomness and fuzziness are the most important and basic for the uncertainty characteristics.Some major expansion of set theory about uncertain knowledge representation and processing are analyzed and compared in this paper.There is a systematic introduction of uncertainty based on rough set knowledge representation and processing methods.Extension of rough set theory based on the classical set theory is discussed deeply.Core operators of rough set were analyzed based on the classical set theory.At the same time,rough logic defined on the information systems is analyzed.It is proved that the important role and advantages of rough set theory for representing and dealing with the uncertainty based on the typical cases in the field of artificial intelligence.Finally,key issues about further studying on uncertain knowledge representation and processing are also discussed.

Abstract:This paper discusses the inventory problem under uncertainty, which is handled by fuzzy method. In the article, we briefly introduce fuzzy theory, then describe the representation of fuzzy parameters in inventory management.A fuzzy model of single-inventory with mult-fuzzy parameters is derived and defuzzified by the Graded Mean Integration Representation, which a few shortage is backordered, and optimal order quantity is determined. Finally ,by giving a demonstration, it is indicated that to treat inventory problem by fuzzy method is more applicable to the reality under uncertainty and is of great value.

Abstract:Temporal information representation and query are the main research topics in temporal database. It still re- mains difficulties in handing uncertain temporal information in temporal database while in real life many events happen with uncertain temporal information. Abstract:After some essential relationships are analyzed between fuzzy sets and vague sets, it is found that the uncertain boundaries of the two kinds of sets can be described by a subinterval. Based on the idea of vague sets, the similarity measuring method between fuzzy sets is developed. Finally, a uniform model is proposed for measuring the similarity of the two same type sets mentioned above. According to this uniform model, it is proved that fuzzy sets and vague sets are equivalent on measuring the similarity of two same type sets. Some of the properties of this model are also presented. This model is very useful to settle intelligent data information processing and fuzzy control problems.

Abstract:Because of imprecise measurement,incomplete information,fuzzy or fault description,etc,the temporal information of some workflows is usually indeterminate(or uncertain).According to the actual need for uncertain temporal modeling and analysis in workflow system,based on possibility theory,the concept of extended fuzzy timing workflow nets(EFTWFN) is proposed,which can describe all uncertain temporal information in a workflow.Under the condition of considering resource constraints,the method to analyze multi-process of EFTWFN models is presented.First of all,several inference rules between transitions of workflows are defined on the basis of EFTWFN and linear logic.Then,the total model is reduced and analyzed gradually according to the rules.The method can solve the qualitative and quantitative problems for concurrent workflows with resource constraints.Furthermore,it has higher efficiency and can complete the process of inference in the linear time complexity.In the end,an application of the method is illustrated through an example in manufacturing enterprise and its validity is indicated by simulation.

Abstract:This paper proposes a general discussion of the handling of imprecise and uncertain information in temporal reasoning in the framework of fuzzy sets and possibility theory. The introduction of fuzzy features in temporal reasoning can be related to different issues. First, it can be motivated by the need of a gradual, linguistic-like description of temporal relations even in the face of complete information. An extension of Allen relational calculus is proposed, based on fuzzy comparators expressing linguistic tolerance. Fuzzy Allen relations are defined from a fuzzy partition made by three possible fuzzy relations between dates (approximately equal, clearly smaller, and clearly greater). Second, the handling of fuzzy or incomplete information leads to pervade classical Allen relations, and more generally fuzzy Allen relations, with uncertainty. The paper provides a detailed presentation of the calculus of fuzzy Allen relations (including the composition table of these relations). Moreover, the paper discusses the patterns for propagating uncertainty about (fuzzy) Allen relations in a possibilistic way.

Abstract:Interval intuitionistic uncertain linguistic sets are an important generalization of fuzzy sets, which well cope with the experts’ qualitative preferences as well as reflect the interval membership and non-membership degrees of the uncertain linguistic term. This paper first points out the issues of the operational laws on interval intuitionistic uncertain linguistic numbers in the literature, and then defines some alternative ones. To consider the relationship between interval intuitionistic uncertain linguistic sets, the expectation and accuracy functions are defined. To study the application of interval intuitionistic uncertain linguistic sets, two symmetrical interval intuitionistic uncertain linguistic hybrid aggregation operators are defined. Meanwhile, models for the optimal weight vectors are established, by which the optimal weighting vector can be obtained. As a series of development, an approach to multi-attribute decision making under interval intuitionistic uncertain linguistic environment is developed, and the associated example is provided to demonstrate the effectivity and practicality of the procedure.

Abstract:In this paper a fuzzy job shop schedule problem model is presented in order to deal with the uncertain processing time. Based on fuzzy set theory and fuzzy decision theory, two fuzzy operators are used and a feasible algorithm is constructed for assigning different membership values to different objective functions. Finally, simulation results are given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed fuzzy schedule model and algorithm.

Abstract:AbstractThe necessity of dealing with uncertainty in real world problems has been a long-term research challenge that has originated different methodologies and theories. Fuzzy sets along with their extensions, such as type-2 fuzzy sets, interval-valued fuzzy sets, and Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy sets, have provided a wide range of tools that are able to deal with uncertainty in different types of problems. Recently, a new extension of fuzzy sets so-called hesitant fuzzy sets has been introduced to deal with hesitant situations, which were not well managed by the previous tools. Hesitant fuzzy sets have attracted very quickly the attention of many researchers that have proposed diverse extensions, several types of operators to compute with such types of information, and eventually some applications have been developed. Because of such a growth, this paper presents an overview on hesitant fuzzy sets with the aim of providing a clear perspective on the different concepts, tools and trends related to this extension of fuzzy sets.

Abstract:In this paper a combined method of time series analysis with fuzzy input information is proposed. Here me system description based on a sequence of observed data is separated into three parts, namely they are three sub-functions of time. First function is used to describe the long term behavior of the system and if is a linear time function. The second one is a Fourier progression and used to describe the cyclic behavior of the system. And the third depicts the external fuzzy uncertainty and if is a fuzzy function. The experimental results and some real applications showed that the prediction and policy analysis given by the method is very effective and accurate.

Abstract:This paper proposes a fuzzy approach for reasoning about action and change in timed domains. In our method, actions and world states are modeled as fuzzy sets over time axis. Thus, their temporal relations and time constraints can be model as fuzzy rules. So, our method handles well the issue that action happens at an approximate time and then the states change also at an approximate time, which has not been solved well in existing work. Finally, our method is used to solve the classic problem of rail road crossing control in a fuzzy environment. The theoretic and simulation analysis shows that the controller using our method works well.
