Abstract:In the 1980 s, China seized an opportunity to be urbanized rapidly, and to develop centralized metropolises or towns urbanized in situ became a hotspot in governments' and experts' discussion. The Chinese Central Government's Conference on Urbanization stated that urbanization ought to provide the Chinese people with opportunities to enjoy the mountains,rivers and their cherished memories of hometowns while enhancing the urbanization level,which is not only the lesson of the prior urbanization efforts but under the New Urbanization policy governing the future urbanization. Now it is well known that China is standing at the critical point for important choices while there is no related experience for reference for this kind of reformation had never appeared worldwide. As a heavy task, due to limited time and lacking references, the reformation will inevitably face various problems, even partial failure and recession.Starting from analysis of the connotation and extension of nostalgia and problems of urbanization, this paper draws idea from related theories and typical cases of urbanization at home and abroad, and indicates that the extant rural construction model must be improved.First of all, both the research on new urbanization methods and the Government's supports should be strengthened, which is the most critical and basic condition. Secondly, a replicable multi- party cooperative governance system and mechanism should be established, including clarifying power and benefits and creating a system to provide planning and construction guidance based on multidisciplinary and professional cooperation, which is the guarantee and the key factors for implementation. Thirdly, the suburban and rural sustainable industries should be fostered, which is the main principle, connotation and method for rural construction and also vital for the realization of China's Dream.
