Analysis of the Effects of Rural Infrastructure Investment on the Rural Economy Based on New-type Urbanization

Abstract:In recent years, with the development of city and its infrastructure, the rural construction is speeding up to promote the process of urbanization, in order to realize the coordination and integration both urbanization and rural construction. This paper reviews the historical evolution and current status of rural infrastructure investment in China, analyzed the existing problems, through setting up relevant variables affect the income of rural residents, the principal component analysis and regression analysis are used by SPSS software to find the relationship between economy and infrastructure investment in rural areas. Then quantitative study is completed by adopting 1994-2010 year data, so we find out that the benefit of rural transportation infrastructure investment is the biggest, and the rate of return in energy investment is lower. Finally the optimal portfolio is analyzed based on Markowitz theory, according to the national policy goals the average income of farmers in 2020 will be double that in 2008, but in 2018 there will be reached through optimal investment, two years ahead of schedule..
