China's Participation in Global Economic Governance:From Being Governed,Passively Participating to Actively Reshaping

Abstract:China's participation in global economic governance has mainly gone through three stages of"be forced by western countries","passive participation"and "initiative reconstruction".At the beginning of the founding of New China,China was excluded from the governance system and could only accept the governance arrangements by western countries.China's participation in global economic governance does not really start until China resumed its legal seat at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. At this stage,although China gradually played a certain role in global economic governance through some international organizations,it was still in a passive state of participation."The Belt and Road"initiative put forward in 2013 became a typical sign of China's full participation and conscious reconstruction of the global economic governance system.Different from the western governance,"The Belt and Road"initiative pro-vides an equal,mutually beneficial,open and inclusive governance model,forming a global governance concept of consulting,constructing and sharing together.China plays an active role in the provision of in-ternational public goods and creates a community of interests through economic cooperation.
