Research on Rural Renaissance Based on the Theory of Urban-Rural Interaction

Abstract:Urban-rural interaction is one of the most important factors influencing rural areal evolution,therefore it is necessary to study Chinese rural renaissance depend on the theory of urban-rural interaction.First,the concept of urbanrural interaction was analyzed and divided into three core issues:element,urban-rural link,and space.The result of conceptual analysis showed that urban-rural interaction was associated with rural evolution that there being pluralistic paths,and the logical relationship between urban-rural interaction and rural renaissance was further identified.Second,the connotations of rural renaissance during transition period were explained,and then some issues of rural development had been genealogical compared and analyzed between that and traditional rural development paradigm during the period of quick urbanization of China.Third,the mechanism of rural renaissance was revealed from three perspectives:element,urban-rural link,and space.Fourth,four models of rural renaissance were summed up:1) The main driving force of rural renaissance came from the elements exchanged between the city and the villages.2) Some villages had advantages on characteristic resources,and their economic development depended on the urban markets and economy diffusion.3)Some villages had advantages on transport services or administrative services,and those would induce a lot of agglomeration effects.4) There were close spatial or functional connections between the city and the villages in some regions,where rural development would benefit from the urban functional diffusion and industrial cooperation.Last,this paper proposed several rural renaissance strategies corresponding to those models.
