Research into Linked Monitoring of China’ s Food Safety Certification and Traceability Systems

Abstract:Food safety certification systems and traceability systems are policy tools for food safety information transmission and each have their own advantages and shortcomings.How to link food safety certification and tracea-bility systems has become a key problem to be solved.The paper analyses food safety certification and traceability system advantages and shortcomings, examining the feasibility and condition of linking food safety certification sys-tems and traceability systems, and proposes policy recommendations for the linking of China’ s food safety certifica-tion and traceability systems.These recommendations include standardizing food safety certification standards, nor-malizing food safety traceability information, strengthening certification institution oversight of traceability systems, integrating monitoring resources, and developing a complete legal system for food safety traceability information quality assurance.These policy recommendations are aimed at improving food safety information monitoring, ensu-ring effective information transmission, and to make full use of food safety certification and traceability functionality to robustly ensure China’ s food safety.
