Time Allocation of In-home and Out-of-home Activities and the Influence Factors of Urban Residents in Xining City: Based on SEM

Abstract:Based on SEM model analysis,this paper analyzed the time allocation on in-home and out-of-home activities of urban residents in Xining from the perspective of activity-based approach.Further,analyzed the influential factors on time allocation,including socio-economic attributes and housing property.The results show that,on weekdays,commuting travel is still the main traffic problem in Xining.At weekends,residents who work and commute for longer time are more likely to do maintain activities at home and residents who do not work are more likely to have out-of-home maintenance activities.Residents who have different social and economic attributes have different patterns of time allocation on in-home and out-of-home activities.And they are influenced by different factors between weekdays and weekends.Residents who live in traditional Danwei housing are still more likely to have shorter commuting time.However,the differences in time allocation on non-work activities between residents living in Danwei housing and other types of housing are not significant.
