The Study on the Relationship Between the Urbanization and Hi- Tech Industries Development

Abstract:Urbanization and the Hi-Tech industry development are two wheels which drive the development of urban economy. On one hand, urbanization can accelerate the accumulation of factors, such as capital, labor and information, so that provide the appropriate basis and environments for Hi-Tech industries development. On the other hand, Hi-Tech industry development also pushes the process of urbanization and leads to more efficient allocation of urban resources. In this paper, we argue that urbanization and Hi-Tech industry development are closely related and affected by each other. On the basis of reviewing the previous theories and studies, this paper focuses on the interaction mechanism between the Urbanization and Hi-Tech industry development. Taking Hangzhou's development as a good example, the paper also demonstrates some empirical findings and gives some valuable policy suggestions.
