Human Development Index and Global Urban Land Growth

Abstract:The full realization of urban functions is closely related to the scale of urban construction land and the rationality of the allocation of urban land structures. The growing demand for a better life cannot be separated from the concerns of the more comprehensive construction land use demand pattern and structure. The human development index can more comprehensively measure the level of national and regional development from multiple dimensions of economic development, life and health, and social progress. From the data of human development index and per capita construction land in 151 countries in 2015, the increase of human development index is positively related to the growth of urban construction land. China's urban construction land still has certain growth potential. Combined with urban governance policies and urban planning concepts and models in developed regions, it is believed that China currently needs to adjust the land use structure and increase the supply of land for people's livelihood, and promote more economic livability while promoting urban economic development, so as to promote the overall level of social economy.
