Abstract:The third-party logistics plays an important role in enhancing core competition strength of an enterprise, improving added-value service, reducing cost of logistics and optimizing enterprise resources etc, but whether the above aims can be achieved depends on the ability and service of logistics vendors. It is of critical importance to the success of enterprise's outsourcing to choose an appropriate third-party logistics vendor. This paper, based on a new system analysis theory-set pair analysis(SPA), evaluates optional logistics vendors. The paper overcomes the shortcomings of the existing methods and contributes to the selection of the third-party logistics vendors on the basis of some objective information provided by our model.

Abstract:A synthetic method based on structure entropy and operation entropy was put forward to improve the collaboration efficiency and order degree of logistics network. The economic symbiosis and organizational complexity of collaborative logistics network were analyzed by using coordinated symbiosis and fractal theory. The change of entropy and self-organizing mechanism were described by cellular automata theory. Based on the concept of entropy, structural order was calculated in time-effect and quality models, and the expression of operation order was derived. From process specification, centralized control and independence of sub-systems, the collaboration efficiency was confirmed consistent with the order degree of collaborative logistics network. Research results showed that the method is valid to improve the performance of collaborative logistics network by coordinating the orders of structure and operation.

Abstract:Nowadays, enterprises typically outsource their logistics needs to logisticsagents, who have become vital partners in managing supply chains. The logisticsneeds in a supply chain consist of many different interrelated services, eachwith its own set of requirements and constraints. A logistics agent mightspecialize in the provision of a single logistics service or might provide arange of services. The selection of logistics agent(s) cannot be separated intoa series of stand-alone selections as the decisions are interrelated. Decisionmakers must assess the merits of individual activity-agent combinations, as wellas their interrelationships along the entire supply chain. Such an evaluation isnon-trivial, because both tangible and intangible elements are involved. In thisresearch, we model the selection problem using analytic network process, amultiattribute decision-making methodology suitable for assessing interdependentelements, both tangible and intangible. We examine the significance ofintegration and consolidation of shipments, the trade-offs between costs,benefits and risks within activities of the logistics process, and the differingroles of traditional freight forwarders and integrators.

Abstract:Outsourcing is an increasingly important task pursued by enterprises seeking improved efficiency. Logistics outsourcing, or third-party logistics (3PL), involves the use of external companies to perform some or all of the firm's logistics activities. In this paper, through analyzing the features and role of third-party logistics, for 3PL provider selection, we propose an indicator system and a method for data integration. We also establish a comprehensive evaluation model for 3PL suppliers based on fuzzy sets; furthermore, we propose a compound quantification model based on centralized quantification values, a comparison method based on the synthesis effect, and a 3PL supplier selection model. A real-world case analysis is provided. The results show that the proposed 3PL supplier selection model can effectively integrate decision preferences into decision processes.

Abstract:In this paper, we use the entropy weight TOPSIS method to quantitatively analyze the importance of suppliers to enterprises and establish a single objective function supplier selection model. Specifically, by checking the reliability of the data, the validity of the data in the attachment is guaranteed. The supplier's important metric system is constructed by using six indicators, and a single objective function is established to solve it by Lingo programming. In addition, the objective function aiming at the minimum number of suppliers and the objective function aiming at the minimum production cost of the enterprise is established, and the quantitative analysis method is used to consider the value of the transfer plan and the order plan. Furthermore, a dual-objective planning model aiming at enterprise storage costs and transportation costs is established, and the Lingo program is used to obtain the most economical ordering plan for the new enterprise in the next 24 weeks. Finally, the sensitivity of the considered models was analyzed by SPSS.

Abstract:Supply chain coordination is a hot topic in related research field recently. The Supply Chain Coordinative Structure (SCCS) that exactly represents which company acts as the coordinator in the network, could fundamentally affect the coordination efficiency. The paper constructs structure entropy models for three typical SCCSs (manufacturer-coordinator, retailer-coordinator and third-party-coordinator), and analyzes the impact of parameters to the coordination efficiency. Finally, the concept of level of order degree (LOD) is raised to evaluate the balance of informational timeliness and informational quality in certain SCCS, and a numerical example is analyzed.

Abstract:Vendor selection problem (VSP) is a very important issue for most manufacturers. Lots of literatures about it have been emitted since the 1970s. However, most methods of them are either subjective or complicated. From the perspective of reducing these shortcomings, this paper proposes a linear optimization hierarchy process (LOHP) by combining the multi-criteria decision model (MCDM) in the work of Ng (2007) and the hierarchy thinking. The LOHP can not only reduce the subjectivity and complicacy efficiently, but also solve the special VSP easily which contains a large amount of criteria. Thus, the LOHP has high practical value in dealing with the VSP. At the end of this article, a realistic example is applied to demonstrate how the LOHP could be used.

Abstract:The study of organizational structure and function of supply chain system is receiving abundant attention in recent years. Network theory has become a powerful approach to provide insight analysis of the structure-activity relation in supply chain system. In this paper, a new method to study the efficiency of logistics processes in supply chain system from the perspective of topology is proposed. By considering the stochasticity of customer demands and delivery delay caused by processing capacity, a logistic algorithm is applied on two kinds of network models, Uncorrelated and Clustering Configuration Model, for supply chain system. Simulation results indicate that the logistics dynamics of supply chain system are highly related to the connection features, especially the clustering structure. Using two measurements of the supply chain system, we show that the Clustering model could provide better performance than Uncorrelated network with shorter Order lead-time and higher Delivery efficiency.

Abstract:This paper set up an evaluation index system for green building supplier selection mode based on the content and feature of green supply chain management, and introduced the combined method of advanced entropy-revised G1 combination weighting and TOPSIS. This method simplifies the computation of TOPSIS and avoids the problem of subjectively deciding the index weight. At last, an example was given to evaluate the feasibility of this method.

Abstract:Supplier selection is a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem which is affected by several conflicting factors. In the business market of flaming competition in recent years, more attention has been paid to this problem. In this paper, a two-phased model is proposed for supplier selection and order allocation. At the first, suppliers are evaluated according to both qualitative and quantitative criteria resulting from SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis. SWOT is a useful technique in strategic management and is utilized to determine criteria and to deal with suppliers’ situation in competitive market. Defining the criteria, Shannon entropy is then used to calculate weight of criteria. Then the results are used as an input for integer linear programming (ILP) to allocate order to suppliers.

Abstract:Environmental factors are increasingly being considered in supply chain risk management (SCRM), which itself represents a growing trend. Accordingly, dynamic supplier selection and order allocation have become very important. Both qualitative and quantitative factors should be considered in the selection of eligible suppliers. In this study, a novel two-stage comprehensive mathematical model is developed for selecting a set of suppliers and assigning an order quantity to each supplier. The first stage involves a primary selection of alternative suppliers according to the risk value, which is determined using qualitative and quantitative methods based on the best–worst method, and the second stage involves establishing a multiobjective mathematical model for dealing with dynamic supplier selection and order allocation. The proposed approach, which helps enterprises manage uncertainty in SCRM, is applied in this study to the new energy vehicles industry.

Abstract:With the rapid growth of modern service economics and the popular adoption of web services, more and more service industries are beginning to deliver services with web service technology. One of the key issues is how the service consumer should search for services within the plentiful service repositories, and especially select a suitable and optimal service from candidates with similar features. However, most of the researches on service selection focus on the general criteria of web service, but ignore the domain-specified needs. This paper proposes a domain-specified quality of service model and an analytic hierarchy process-based service-selecting approach by integrating hierarchical clustering algorithms and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods. An application in logistics is given to validate the effectiveness of this approach.

Abstract:On the background of economic globalisation, market competition is no longer the competition between enterprises, but it is the competition between supply chains. Supplier selection is the basis of supply chain cooperation, and is also the key factor to improve the competitive power of a supply chain. A novel method, which combines entropy weight and an improved ELECTRE-III method, is proposed to deal with supplier selection of supply chains. The research states at home and abroad are firstly analysed, and on the foundation of the relative literature, the indicator systems are constructed and the corresponding objective weight of each indicator based on entropy is calculated. Then the threshold is confirmed and the harmoniousness index and the unharmoniousness index are calculated. Next, the outranking relation is calculated and evaluated. Last, the suppliers are ranked based on the net advantage value of each project. Finally, the case analysis proves that the process of this method is clear and the application of it is convenient.

Abstract:As more and more logistics companies begin to deliver services using Web services,they need to properly select the most appropriate logistics service from multiple options with similar functional properties.Previous studies have been limited to general Web service selection criteria without considering domain-specified demands.This paper presents a logistics related criteria in an extended QoS(quality of service) model with an AHP-based services selection approach integrating hierarchical clustering and fuzzy comprehensive evaluations.The approach is validated by an example related to the Chongqing Gorge project with the results showing that the method is effective.

Abstract:Selecting the right partner is a key factor for the successful construction of the strategic alliance of prefabricated construction enterprises in China. Based on the summarization of domestic and foreign studies, combined with the characteristics of the strategic alliance of prefabricated construction enterprises, the paper has constructed an evaluation indicator system of the partner selection of the strategic alliance of prefabricated construction enterprises in China. The paper also has conducted an empirical study on the evaluation model of partner selection of the strategic alliance of prefabricated construction enterprises in China by using the method Entropy Weight-TOPSIS. The research results show that the five most influential second-level indicators are commercial housing sales capability, property management capability, commitment of capital, commitment of talents, and product innovation capability. The model constructed in the paper can comprehensively evaluate and select the strategic alliance partners of prefabricated construction enterprises in China.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to present a framework and a suitable method for selecting the best logistics supplier. In general, many quantitative and qualitative criteria should be considered simultaneously for making the decision of logistics supplier selection. The information about judging the performance of logistics suppliers will come from customers' opinions, experts' opinions and the operational data in the real environment. Under this situation, the selection problem of logistic suppliers will be the uncertainties and fuzziness problems in the decision making process. Therefore, we combined the linguistic PROMETHEE method with maximum deviation method to determine the ranking order of logistics suppliers. And then, an example is implemented to demonstrate the practicability of the proposed method. Finally, some conclusions are discussed at the end of this paper.
