The Hidden Deep Back-stage: Relationship between Content Creators and Audiences in the Openned News Production A Case Study of the Report of Zhuo Wei in China Youth

Abstract:This paper combines Goffman and Meyrowitz's dramaturgical theory with the empirical case study of China Youth report on Zhuo Wei and Weibo commentary using frame analysis and text analysis methods to research new features of the relationship between content creators andaudiences in the Internet environment. This paper discusses the content of news reports and the release of news reports, proposes that under the conditions of opened news production, audiences are still dominated by the 'deep back-stage' of content creators after the openness of established media's 'back-stage'.This is the space for content creators to maintain the authority of journalism and may further strengthen the passiveness of the audiences. The recognition and exploration of the 'deep backstage'may facilitate a more sensible understanding of the overall picture in the production of journalism.
