A Review of Innovation Diffusion in Social Networks

Abstract:The research focus of innovation diffusion has shifted from the rate of macroscopic diffusion, the de-gree of microscopic diffusion to innovation diffusion in social networks. Diffusion of innovation under the environ-ment of social networks presents different characteristics, and domestic academic research in this field is still in initial stage. Through a literature review, it firstly introduced the connotation and development process of innova-tion diffusion, and then expounded the influence of node characteristics, node connection, network topology and network effect on innovation diffusion. Meanwhile, it analyzed the influences of product factors such as relative in-novation superiority, first mover advantage and pricing strategy under the social network environment and traditional environment. Finally, it pointed out future research directions.
