Research on Relationship among Entrepreneurial Networks, Effectual Entrepreneurial Resource Integration and New Venture Performance

Abstract:This paper studies the direct impact of entrepreneurial networks (including network strength and network quality) on new venture performance, the mediating effects of effectual entrepreneurial resource integration and the moderating ef-fect of environmental uncertainty. Examining data from 290 new ventures, it is found that:(1) Both the network strength and network quality of entrepreneurial networks have significant positive impacts on new venture performance; (2) All of the principle of affordable loss, strategic alliance, exploitation of contingencies and means-oriented in entrepreneurial resource combination have significant positive effects on new venture performance;(3) The principle of affordable loss, strategic al-liance and exploitation of contingencies play positive mediating role in the positive relationship between network strength and new venture performance, network quality and new venture performance;(4) While environmental uncertainty plays a negative moderating role in the relationship between the network strength and the principle of affordable loss, strategic al-liance and exploitation of contingencies, it plays a positive moderating role in the relationship between the network quality and the principle of affordable loss.
