An Urban Construction Route of Innovation Driven Development---Evidence from Shanghai Innovative City's Construction

Abstract:It is of great importance for Innovation Driven Development Strategy's guidance on the construction of innovative city .By combining the connotation and characteristics of Innovation Driven Development Strategy with the function and features of innovative city ,this paper proposed a theoretical framework from three aspects of strategic orientation ,core content and key focus .The three urban construction routes of innovation driven development ,respectively ,are named as welfare development drove by institution innovation ,industry development drove by science and technology innovation , and trade development drove by financial innovation .Further ,by applying the theoretical framework into Shanghai inno‐vative city's construction from 2006 to 2014 ,three shortcomings were captured clearly ,and this was followed by three countermeasures from the perspectives of "Shanghai's Shanghai","China's Shanghai ,"and "The World's Shanghai".
