Artificial Intelligence Enhanced Education or Education for Development of Intelligence——An Analysis on Connotation and Target of Intelligent Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Abstract:Human beings have entered the era of artificial intelligence, and it is imperative to carry out comprehensive intelligent education. However, whether it is"intelligent education"or"education for the development of intelligence", the current understanding of the most researchers and practitioners is not clear. Artificial intelligence provides the technological foundation for all people's development of intelligence,but it is too narrow to position intelligent education as an education with the content of artificial intelligence. Intelligent education is not exactly equivalent to the cultivation of talents in intelligent disciplines,or to the thinking education in the general sense.Intelligent education should promote individual understanding and intellectual development as the core value proposition, enlighten intelligent talents with crucial thinking such as computational thinking, engineering thinking, and artificial intelligence thinking, and build educational intelligence ontology knowledge including the core concepts and ideas of artificial intelligence,technical methods,and technical practices.Measures to promote the implementation of intelligent education cannot be considered solely from the perspective of the necessity of personnel training and the development of artificial intelligence in higher education.It is recommended to plan feasible strategies from such aspects as personnel preparation planning, education informatization, curriculum and teaching reform, innovation in teaching activities, and professional development of teachers to promote all aspects of intelligent education following the principle of unity and coordination with multiple measures.
