Educational Equilibrium Research and Policy:Developmental Characteristics and Future Trends

Abstract:In the recent thirty years,the research on education equilibrium mainly focused on the regional balance of compulsory education,with emphasis on external input and resource allocation,and less attention to student learning and development. The research methods are mainly description analysis,lack of causal inference and policy quantitative analysis. Policy orientation changed from efficiency first and classification development to high quality and fairness. Policy measures changed from "emphasis on factor input" to "emphasis on education process." In the future,Educational Equilibrium studies should emphasize the explanation and attribution of differences,and the normative analysis and scientific evaluation of policy effects. The policy should focus on the continuous intervention,assessment and improvement of the key factors affecting the quality of education,to promote equitable education process and fairness of results.
