Abstract:Students' dormitories, the main places of their university life, have s'pecial meanings for university students' healthy development. However, there are many problems in the construction of university students' dormitory culture. This paper analyzes its reasons and gives some suggestions.

Abstract:In my country's higher education system, school dormitories are an important position for college students' study and life. College students spend more than half of their time in dormitories. Therefore, as a learning treasure and life paradise for college students, completing the construction of dormitory culture in colleges and universities, and exerting its educational function has become an important content of college ideological and political education. This article is based on the current status of the construction of dormitory culture in colleges and universities, and explores the way to realize the education of dormitory culture in colleges and universities under the cultural background of the new era, aiming to better play the role of students' self-management and self-service.

Abstract:The college dormitory is an important place where students live and study in their daily life,which is also in a key position of cultivating and forming a socialist core value system with Chinese characteristics.Meanwhile,the college dormitory is the weakest link in building the campus culture.However,Jiangnan Culture plays an irreplaceable role in building the harmonious culture of the college dormitory.It urges college students to pay more attention to study,and contributes to the formation of the team-work spirit.This article analyses the factors,necessity and feasibility of expediting the construction of the college dormitory culture,and puts forward its related suggestions.

Abstract:With the rapid development of Chinese universities and colleges in the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the population of enrolled students accompanied by a big expansion of campus area. These changes have influenced and are influencing the campus residential environment and lifestyles. As a result, the issue of their relationships should call for more attention. Due to the differences in personal values and campus lifestyles, students′ demands on the residential environment show diversity. In the case study of Hangzhou City, China, viewpoints concerning personal attributes, residential preferences and campus conditions to represent the residential lifestyles on campus were introduced and analyzed. Six university campuses were selected as survey objectives in order to comprehensively demonstrate campus environment conditions in the city. Four patterns of campus residential lifestyle were classified by residential preferences; and their characteristics were compared through subjective evaluation and objective conditions. The results of this research provide the basic data for future work in the improvement of the Chinese campus environment. Furthermore, the methodology of characterizing residential lifestyles may bring about a new useful perspective for further research on the evaluation of residential environment.

Abstract:Campus culture is a sum of thinking patterns, moral standards, behavior habits and values that formed during the creation and development of colleges and universities and it eventually became a consensus among teachers and students. Excellent campus culture reflects the philosophy and features of colleges and universities and can promote common beliefs and values among massive numbers of teachers and students. College students are a generation of activeness. With the interaction, conflicts and fusion of cultures, their ideology has also become multiple, diverse and changeable. The contemporary university students' values are showing a trend of diversification. This paper analyzes the main problems and necessities of campus culture construction and discusses specific paths of campus culture construction in such a situation.

If contradictory conflicts cannot obtain,the properly solution promptly, not only can affect university student’s study life and the healthy in mind and body, also can give the universities the student supervisory work to bring many difficulties. Prevents and solves the university student dormitory in terpersonal conflict, cannot leave the school and the university student own joint effort.

Abstract:From the perspective of “comprehensive education”, this article adopts scientific econometric analysis and knowledge graph construction to study the hotspots and trends in the construction of dormitory culture in universities. Using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software for analysis, it was found that the number of publications on the construction of dormitory culture in universities has significantly increased since 2018. The research hotspots mainly focus on keywords such as “three comprehensive educations”, “universities”, “dormitory culture”, and “vocational colleges”. The research mainly focuses on the connotation of dormitory culture, educational models, practical paths, and the role of party building guidance in talent cultivation. Future research should strengthen quantitative research, expand the scope of research objects, and conduct in-depth evaluations of the implementation effect of “three comprehensive educations” in dormitory culture construction, in order to provide more effective management strategies and training plans, and promote the continuous improvement and development of university dormitory culture. The research on the construction of dormitory culture in universities has flourished in recent years, especially from the perspective of “three comprehensive educations”, which has received widespread attention. This provides important theoretical guidance and support for universities to improve the comprehensive quality of students and cultivate well-rounded talents.

Abstract:The campus culture is to point the basic behavior norm, basic conviction and value which all the teachers, employees and students to comply with. As a part of the whole social culture, it is mostly divided into three types of structures, namely material layer, spirit layer with the system layer. Accordingly, the content of the construction of campus culture mainly includes material cultural construction, campus spirit culture construction and the system of campus culture construction. Lack of the construction of campus material culture, the biases of the campus spiritual culture construction bias and rigid system of campus culture construction are flooding the reality. To improve the situation, we should adhere to the people-oriented and harmonious ideas, set up the system integrated construction idea, take advantage of our campus man's subjective activeness, make innovation lead the construction of campus culture, pay more attention to education reform and the era background and treat campus network culture correctly.

The Impact of Space Design on Occupants' Satisfaction with Indoor Environment in University Dormitories

Abstract:Indoor environmental quality is closely-related to the occupants' comfort, performance and health. However, very few studies on indoor environmental quality were done in university dormitories, especially with regard to space design. This study aims to better understand the influence of space design on occupants' satisfaction with indoor environmental quality. It conducted a questionnaire survey among occupants of five types of spaces in seven university dormitories. In total, 921 valid responses were collected. Using multiple linear regression, it was found that space design was the most influential factor on the occupants' overall satisfaction with indoor environmental quality. A correlation analysis indicated that there was an overestimation of the correlation between space design and other indoor environmental quality factors. The results of the Mann-Whitney test demonstrated that space design had a halo effect on these factors, and its pros and cons were analyzed. Furthermore, we compared five types of spaces to identify the most satisfactory space type. Single and twin rooms with balconies provided more satisfaction. The occupants' satisfaction increased with an increase in the area per capita, whereas the increase was limited when the value reached 13.5 m(2). This study revealed the importance of space design on occupants' satisfaction which deserves more attention, and offered a new dimension to indoor environmental quality research.

Abstract:Currently, China is facing complex challenges of multiple transformations, including but not limited to social structural changes, international globalization, and deepening reforms of the education system. These factors not only provide unprecedented opportunities for the construction of campus culture in universities, but also bring considerable pressure and problems to various aspects of campus culture, such as material culture, spiritual culture, and institutional culture. For example, some universities have confusion and ambiguity in their values and ethical choices, which limits the further optimization and development of campus culture. Therefore, how to strengthen the cultural attributes of university campuses in the new era has become a problem that must be seriously addressed. Using scientific methods to guide and provide direction for cultural construction activities to enter the campus has become an urgent issue for China's education and cultural development. How to improve its effectiveness and influence has also become a pressing issue. Based on this topic, this article adopts moral education theory, cultural education theory, and contemporary Chinese cultural education theory as the theoretical foundation, combined with the case study of Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology, analyzes the current cultural phenomena and construction progress on university campuses through questionnaire survey method, analyzes and grasps their existing problems, and interprets the causes of their problems from multiple perspectives, aiming to provide more comprehensive and systematic solutions for the construction of university campus culture.
