Thinking and Practice on the Undergraduate Teaching of"Fundamentals of System Dynamics" Course

Abstract:"Fundamentals of System Dynamics" is a course that emphasizes the close connection between the theory of system science and the practice of modeling and simulation. We illus-trate our perception and practice from the perspectives of theory teaching, experiment teaching, answering questions and evalua-tion. On theory teaching, we should make good preparation of the slides, inspire students' core consciousness, and synthesize vari-ety of teaching methods. On experiment teaching, we should cor-rectly understand the functionality of experiment teaching, and delicately design the experiments for theory validation and prac-tical application. From the aspect of answering questions and e-valuation, teachers and students should make good communica-tion that facilitates both the teaching and learning. Finally, we discuss some problems encountered in the teaching and ap-proaches to improve the course.
