The Spatial-temporal Evolution Analysis on Disparities of Tourism Economy at County-level in Zhejiang Province

Abstract:This paper explores the spatial-temporal evolution of the tourism economy between 2003 and 2010 atcounty-level in Zhejiang based on the traditional statistical research and space data analysis.The results show that, while the overall level of tourism economic develop-ment is improved in Zhejiang, the absolute disparities of tourism economic development are increasing and relative disparities are decreasing gradually; spatial structure of tourism economy transfers from the type of dual-nuclei to the type of point-axis. Tourism economy transfers from low level development zone to middle and high level development zone; Matthew effect is found in county tourism economy; spatial distribution of county tourism economy changes from the random distribution to the spatial concentration with“high-high area”and“low-low area”in Zhejiang; the formercontinues to expand and the latteris shrinking.Based on the analysis above, the causes of disparities are identiifed and solu-tions to narrow the disparities among regions are suggested to make tourism economy develop in coordination.
