Abstract:Film is a carrier of culture.The history of film development also reveals the transition of culture.Films from different cultures vary in style.Comparing to the aggressive western culture,the oriental culture tends to be more internally unified and inclusive.In terms of film,the western film is usually featured by its strong and rapid rhythm while the oriental film appears to be in a slow and abstract style.In a time of globalization,modernization and transformation of social culture,with the strong aggression of western culture and the call of promoting Chinese culture to the world,each Chinese film practitioner has to,inevitably,think over how to maintain the basis of national culture and promote the unique feature of Chinese national film in a better way.This article,focusing on the approach of film rhythm,attempts to explore the connections and interactions between slow rhythm film and oriental cultural genes.
