Test Study on Inner Turret Moored FPSO Model

Abstract:The model test of a turret moored 600,000 bbls. FPSO, which will work in the depth of 375m underwater, is described. The hybrid model testing technique is employed to truncate the mooring system of the FPSO under some guidelines due to the dimension limit of the test basin. The numerical reconstruction calculation for the truncated system is proceeded in the time domain. The hydrodynamic response results both calculated and measured are analyzed and compared with the statistic characteristics and the power spectra. The agreement between calculation and model test is satisfied.
