Abstract:The robust stability for neutral systems with time-varying delay and uncertainties is investigated in this paper. Two kinds of uncertainties including nonlinear perturbation and norm-bounded uncertainty are considered here. A novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii function that splits the whole delay interval into two subintervals and defines a different energy function on each subinterval is constructed. Using the Jensen inequality, some new delay-dependent robustly absolute stability criteria are presented in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMI). Neither model transformation nor bounding technique for cross terms is required in obtaining the stability conditions. The neutral-delay and discrete-delay are taken into account. The numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness.

Abstract:We focus on the problem of robust stability for the linear uncertain multi-time-delay system. Both the systems subjected to unstructured parametric uncertainties and structured parametric are concerned. Based on the fact that if the characteristic roots of a system lie in the left half complex plane then the system is asymptotically stable, several delay-independent asymptotically stable sufficient conditions for linear uncertain multi-time-delay systems are derived. These conditions only rely on the structure of the system; this can lead to reduction in conservatism. Some numerical example examples are given to show the superiority of our results to those in the literature.

Abstract:The robust stability for neutral systems with mixed delays and uncertainties was investigated. The uncertainties under consideration were nonlinear perturbations and norm-bounded uncertainties, respectively. A novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional was constructed and its positive definiteness was proved by using integral inequality, which relaxed the constraint on some functional parameters. The neutral-delay-dependent and discrete-delay-dependent stability criteria for two different forms of uncertainty were derived by using Lyapunov method in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Then the conservatism caused by neutral-delay-independence was relaxed. The numerical examples were given to illustrate the effectiveness of the method and the improvement over some existing methods.

Abstract:The robust stability of neutral systems with time-varying discrete delay and norm-bounded uncertainties is studied. Firstly, a new variable is introduced to replace the uncertainties of the systems. Then, by constructing a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, using integral inequality and introducing free weighting matrices, we derive a new asymp-totic stability criterion in terms of the linear matrix inequality(LMI). The obtained criterion takes into account the neutral delay, discrete delay and the derivative of the discrete delay. This result is less conservative than some existing results. Fi-nally, numerical examples demonstrate the improvements over existing results, and show the relationship among the neutral delay, discrete delay and the derivative of discrete delay.

Abstract:A class of nonlinear neutral type and retarded type dynamic systems with uncertainties is studied. The uncertainties satisfy norm bounded condition. A class of Lyapunov functional is established. By analyzing the control system(B,D,C), sufficient conditions can obtain that, under the suitable conditions, the nonlinear neutral differential dynamic system and the corresponding retarded dynamic system can be stabilized. The robust asymptotic stability criteria for nonlinear neutral type and retarded type differential systems are obtained under the approach of Lyapunov functional. Simultaneously, the robust stabilization criteria for corresponding nonlinear neutral type and retarded type dynamic control systems are presented.

Abstract:In this article, the issue of robust stability analysis for a sort of uncertain neutral system with mixed time-varying delays is studied. A new Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional comprising quadruple-integral term is introduced so as to develop a less conservative stability condition. A novel discrete and neutral delay-dependent stability criterion based on linear matrix inequalities is given using delay-central point method as well as reciprocally convex combination approach, which is derived by integral inequality approach. Compared with the existing literature, this criterion can greatly reduce the complexity of theoretical derivation and computation. Finally, three numerical comparative examples are designated to verify the superiority of the proposed approach in reducing the conservation of conclusion.

Abstract:The issue of robustly exponential stability for uncertain neutral-type systems is considered in this paper. The uncertainties are nonlinear and the delays are time-varying. In terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI), the new sufficient stability condition with delay dependence is presented. The model transformation and bounding techniques for cross terms are avoided based on an integral inequality. Two illustrative examples are proposed to show the effectiveness of our method.

Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of robust stability of uncertain neutral systems with neutral, discrete and distributed delays. A method based on linear matrix inequalities is presented that makes it easy to calculate both the upper stability bounds and the free weighting matrices. Since the criteria takes three different delays of neutral-, discrete- and distributed-delays into account, it is less conservative than previous methods. Numerical examples illustrate the improvement this approach provides over previous methods.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of the delay-dependent robust stability of neutral systems with mixed delays and time-varying structured uncertainty. The uncertainty modeled in the systems is of the linear fractional type which includes the norm-bounded uncertainty as a special case. By constructing a new type of augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using some integral inequalities, a new stability criterion is obtained in terms of a linear matrix inequality. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness of the proposed methods.

Abstract:The robust stability of uncertain linear neutral systems with discrete and distributed delays is investigated. The uncertainties under consideration are norm bounded, and possibly time-varying. A new method based on the equivalent equation of zero and the Leibniz–Newton formula in the derivative of the Lyapunov–Krasovskii function is put forward, the proposed stability criteria are formulated in the form of a linear matrix inequality and it is easy to check the robust stability of the considered systems. Numerical examples illustrate that the proposed criteria are effective and achieve significant improvement over the results proposed in some previous paper.

By considering the cross-terms with additional design parameters, a complete form of Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional is constructed. Then some free weighting matrices are introduced, and a sufficient stability condition is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. By dividing the discrete delay interval and neutral delay interval into two segments respectively, and choosing proper functionals for different segments, a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is employed.
