Abstract:The activation of hydroxyl group is a key step in the synthesis of ligand-polymer for affinity partition. Using thionyl chloride as the chloridating agent and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as the model polymer, the conventional process was improved by introducing triethylamine(Et 3N) into the reaction system.The precipitate of Et 3N·HCl formed in the system promotes the reaction into a thermodynamically beneficial process, which significantly reduced the dosage of thionyl chloride and simplified the synthesis procedure.The mole ratio of reaction materials(SOCl 2,Et 3N and PEG),reaction temperature and reaction time were investigated and optimized.A high value of the synthetic yield was reached at 1.54 mol Cl ·(mol PEG) -1 .The comparisons to the conventional thionyl chloride method and epichlorohydrin method were also discussed.

Abstract:An improved process was reported to solve the problems such as low yield and high costs in the synthesis of 3-n-propyl-2, 4-dihydroxyacetophenone, which is a key intermediate of Leukotriene receptor antagonist. The target compound was synthesized starting from m-dihydroxybenzene, via acylation, allylation, Claisen rearrangement and hydrogenation reduction. The optimal reaction conditions were as follows. The acylation reaction which used acetic acid as acylation agent and ZnCl 2 as catalyst was carried out under reflux for 5 h, and 77.9% yield was obtained. The allylation reaction using allyl chloride as allylation reagent and NaBr, KI as catalyst was carried out at 40°C for 2 h and continued at 70°C for 14 h, to give 98.6% yield. In Claisen rearrangement carried out at 205°C for 4.5 h, diphenyl ether was used as reaction solvent and NaCl was used as catalyst, and the yield was improved to 67.4%. In the final step, the hydrogenated reduction with Pd/C (w(Pd) is 5%) as catalyst was carried out at 45°C for 6 h, and 88.6% yield was obtained. The process is much of industrial value because of high yield, cheap and available materials, and convenient operations. The structure of the main compounds was confirmed by 1H-NMR, GC-MS and IR.

Abstract:4,4'-Bis(dimethoxyphosphonomethyl)-diphenyl was synthesized from trimethoxyfosfin and halogenated hydrocarbons.Effect of molar ratio,reaction time,temperature and amount of solvent on the yield was investigated.The experimental results showed that the yield of 4,4'-bis(dimethoxyphosphonomethyl)-diphenyl was about 91.5%,purity was 98.6% under the following conditions:dichloromethyl biphenyl∶trimethyl phosphite(molar ratio) was 3∶1,temperature was 110 ℃,time was 2 h and solventamount was 160 mL.

Abstract:An improved synthesis technology of 1-methyl-3-trifluoromethyl-4-pyrazole carboxylic acid which is an important intermediate of pesticides was studied.The title compound was synthesized by sodium cyanoacetate via condensation,acylation,cyclization and hydrolysis.The suitable reaction conditions were found as follows.The condensation reaction was carried out at 40~45℃ for 5 h,and in which the ethanol was used as solvent,the molar ratio of sodium cyanoacetate to N-(methoxymethylene)-N,N-dimethylaminium methanesulfonate is 1:2.5,and under above conditions the yield was improved from 67%(reported in the literatures) to 93.7%.During acylation,TEA was used as acid-capturer,trifluoroacetyl chloride was used to replace phosgene as acylating reagent and the yield of 78.6% was obtained when the molar ratio of 3-(dimethylamino)acrylonitrile,trifluoroacetyl chloride and TEA is 1:1.5:2.The cyclization reaction was carried out in a mixed solvent of methanol and water,and the product yield of 74.3% was obtained.The structures of the intermediates and product were confirmed by 1H-NMR.The proposed process has quite good industrial value because of its high yields,cheap and easily available raw materials,moderate reaction conditions and convenient operations.

Abstract:2,2-Diethoxypropane was prepared by acetone and anhydrous alcohol under triethyl orthoformate as dehydration agent and ammonium chloride as catalyst. Effects of reaction condition on the condensation were investigated, according to the method of single factor test. The preferably condition was that acetone 26 g (0.45 mol), triethyl orthoformate 74 g (0.50 mol), alcohol 75 mL and ammonium chloride 0.72 g were reacted under reflux for 3 h. The yield was 77.5%.

Abstract:Thiophenol,ethylene oxide and concentrated sulfuric acid were used as raw materials to prepare phenylvinylsulfone in order to get a simple and applicable synthesis method.The experiments were taken in a batch reactor to investigate the effects of temperature and the ratio of reactants on each step of reactions.The optimum conditions of the reaction were selected as follows: the reaction temperature of thiophenol and ethylene oxide is 40 ℃,the molar ratio of thiophenol to ethylene oxide is 1 ∶1.1,and the reaction temperature of step 2 is 140 ℃,and the molar ratio of thiophenol to concentrated sulfuric acid is 1 ∶3.2.At such conditions the yield is 92%.The new route obtained is much simpler and easier to operate,and has higher atom economy and yield.

Abstract:Trifluoronitrobenzene was hydrolyzed in alkali solution to the corresponding potassium phenolate(Ⅰ) .In the presence of potassium iodide,treatment of Ⅰ with monochloroacetone gave 2 acetonyloxy 3,4 difluoronitrobenzene(Ⅱ).At molar ratio of 2,3,4 tyifluoronitrobenzene:monochloroacetone: potassium iodide=1 00∶1 25∶0 06 and temperature of 55 ℃,the yield of Ⅱwas 70 2% and the purity was 97 5%.The drawback of the old method to use hydrochloric acid and potassium carbonate was avoided .This improved method is suitable for industrial production for its low cost .

Abstract:The organophosphorus compounds are widely used as extractant in hydrometallurgy .Bis(2 , 4 ,4‐trimethylpentyl)‐phosphinic acid(commercial named as Cyanex272) shows excellent performance for extracting rare earths and Ni/Co .Since the intellectual property rights of the extractant still belongs to foreign countries ,so Cyanex272 is very expensive in our country .Herein ,an improved synthesis route for Cyanex272 is pointed out ,in w hich hypophosphorous acid and diisobutene are used as raw material ,and di‐tert‐butyl peroxide is used as free radical initiator .In this synthesis process , hypophosphorous acid served as both phosphorus source and a strong acid w hich could reduce the by‐products greatly and simplified the post‐processing .T he structures of the as‐synthesized products are characterized by 31 P‐NMR ,1 H‐NMR ,gas chromatography ,infrared spectrum (IR) ,and MS .The purity of the title compound synthesized by the improved route can reach 98% .

Abstract:A new triphosphorus ligand, Tribi, was developed for the regioselective linear hydroformylation of terminal and internal olefins. It was shown to have excellent catalytic activity and regioselectivity. More importantly, the synthesis of the new triphosphorus ligand was scaled-up (>140 g scale) for practical industrial use. An effective method was also developed for the stepwise replacement of PPh3 by Tribi for potential industrial use.

Abstract:The theoretical calculation about the catalytic mechanism of MCM-41 supported phosphoric acid (SPAM) in the alkylation desulfurization of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) gasoline demonstrated that properly reducing the amount of effective acid on the surface was beneficial to further enhancing the catalyst performance. Based on the previously optimized preparation of SPAM (weight ratio of total acid/MCM-41 6: 1, calcination temperature 773 K and weigh ratio of H3PO4/H4P2O7 1:2.5), an improvement by diluting the concentration of mixed phosphoric acids in the impregnating solution was carried out in this work. The surface structure and catalytic behavior of improved SPAM were investigated by structural characterization and experimental verification, respectively. The results proved that decreasing the concentration of mixed phosphoric acids in the impregnating solution in the preparation of SPAM could effectively reduce the existing acid amount on the catalyst surface by increasing the catalyst crystallinity, and both the surface acid strength and the total acids amount of SPAM were reduced. Moreover, the catalytic activity and selectivity of improved SPAM for thiophenic sulfurs alkylation in the alkylation desulfurization were enhanced and the olefins polymerization reactions were suppressed to a lower extent. Besides, the theoretical calculation was verified by this study, which opened a particularly appealing opportunity for the application of SPAM in the industrial alkylation desulfurization of gasoline. Abstract:Trimethylolpropane fatty acid triester (TFATE) is a promising biolubricant as an environmentally friendly substitute to conventional mineral-based lubricants. However, the issues of extensive energy consumption from vacuum maintenance and feedstock saponification caused by strong alkaline catalysts exist in current TFATEbased biolubricant synthesis. Here, sustainable production of biolubricant was achieved with methyl oleate (MO) from non-edible oil sources as the feedstock and moderate alkaline K2CO3 as the catalyst. Nitrogen gas stripping method instead of vacuum was adopted for methanol removal. The effects of agitation speed, N-2 flow rate, catalyst amount, MO to trimethylolpropane (TMP) molar ratio and temperature on MO conversion and TFATE selectivity were examined. The TFATE selectivity reached 95.6% under the optimized conditions. Leaching tests indicated neglectable K2CO3 dissolution in reaction products. The kinetic parameters for the three consecutive transesterification reactions were calculated. In addition, the synthesized biolubricants exhibit low acid value and volatility, moderate iodine value, superior thermal stability, and good rheological and frictional properties.
Improvement on the Key Synthesis Process of Progesterone

Abstract:A new technology process of target product progesterone oxidized by sodium hypochlorite with TEMPO as catalyst and pregnenolone as raw material was researched.The effects of oxidant,raw materials molar ratio,pH of reaction system and reaction temperature on the yields and product quality were discussed.The results showed that the better oxidant was sodium hypochlorite,the optimal molar ratio of pregnenolone,sodium hypochlorite,TEMPO,sodium bromide was 10:15:0.8:0.5,the better pH of reaction system was about 9.3,the reaction temperature should be controlled at 0~5 ℃.The overall yield of this process was up to 63% and the products had high purity which has prospects for large production.
Synthesis and characterization of an efficient flame retardant based on aromatic ring and phosphate ester for epoxy resin

Abstract:An efficient phosphorous flame retardant rich in aromatic rings was synthesized and introduced into epoxy resin. The flame retardant properties of the resultant composites were studied, and the results were compared with those of 5 wt% tris(bis(4‐((diphenoxyphosphoryl)oxy)phenyl)methyl) benzene‐1,3,5‐tricarboxylate (DHPP‐OH‐BAC), 10 wt% DHPP‐OH‐BAC and 15 wt.% DHPP‐OH‐BAC samples. The results showed that the 15% DHPP‐OH‐BAC sample had the best flame retardancy effect, a limiting oxygen index of 33.6%, and UL‐94 V‐0 level. A cone calorimeter experiment showed that the addition of flame retardant can significantly reduce the amount of smoke and heat. Macroscopic digital photographs, scanning electron micrographs and thermogravimetric analysis results further revealed that DHPP‐OH‐BAC can exhibit high char yields. The flame retardancy mechanism of DHPP‐OH‐BAC was preliminarily shown by pyrolysis‐gas chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis. Abstract:Piperazinyl phenyl phosphate (PPOP) and 4,4‐diaminodiphenylmethyl phenyl phosphate (DPOA) containing phosphorus and nitrogen elements as flame retardants applied for epoxy resin (EP) were successfully synthesized, and substantiated by Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), 1H and 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and elemental analysis (EA). The limiting oxygen index (LOI) of the EP composites with 3 wt% of PPOP and DPOA attained 33.6% and 34.2%, both acquired the UL‐94 V‐0 rating, respectively. The peak of heat release rate (pHRR), the total heat release (THR) and the total smoke production (TSP) of EP/PPOP‐1 decreased by 21.0%, 25.6%, and 18.7%, respectively. For EP/DPOA‐1, the pHRR, THR, and TSP were brought down by 23.5%, 21.8%, and 26.4%, respectively. Flame‐retardant mechanisms were explicitly evaluated by the scanning electron microscope (SEM), Raman spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis‐infrared spectrometry (TG‐IR). This proposed method not only could produce efficient flame retardant for EP but provide new ideas for replacing existing halogenated flame retardants.

Abstract:In light of escalating global climate change concerns and the pressing need to address industries with high carbon emissions and pollution, enhancing the preparation of phenol-formaldehyde epoxy resins has emerged as a critical research focus. This study seeks to fabricate waterborne phenol-formaldehyde epoxy resins with superior performance by investigating pivotal factors influencing their properties and refining preparation methods. Utilizing tetrabutylammonium bromide as a phase transfer catalyst, the phenol-formaldehyde epoxy resins are synthesized via a two-step alkalization process. Subsequent etherification reactions involve modifying the phenol-formaldehyde epoxy resins using cationic modifier diethanolamine (DEA) and anionic modifier sodium p-amino benzenesulfonate, resulting in waterborne phenol-formaldehyde epoxy resins. Subsequently, in situ synthesis is employed to produce nanoscale silica (SiO 2 ) modified waterborne phenol-formaldehyde epoxy resins. The findings reveal that when the ratio of n1 to n2 falls within the range of 1/3.25 to 1/3, the emulsion displays a moderate particle size and maintains stable storage. Furthermore, an increase in DEA dosage leads to a particle size of less than 324 nm when the ratio of n1 to n2 exceeds 1/3, indicating stability. Moreover, optimal stability and prolonged storage lifespan are achieved when the nano SiO 2 content is approximately 1.5%. This study contributes by synthesizing high-quality waterborne phenol-formaldehyde epoxy resin emulsions through optimized methods. The research findings offer a theoretical foundation for this domain and support the practical application of low-carbon and environmentally friendly concepts in the coatings industry.

Abstract:Phosphate ester compounds display good flame retardancy effect in epoxy resin systems. In this paper, several novel phosphate esters, used as curing agents for epoxy resins, were synthesized based on P2O5, phosphoric acid, and different types of alcohol. The structures of phosphate esters were characterized by 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (31P NMR). Then, a series of flame retardant epoxy composites were prepared by curing the epoxy resins (E-44) with the phosphate esters. The flame retardancy and thermal degradation behaviors of flame retardant epoxy composites were investigated by cone calorimeter test (CCT) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), respectively. The results of CCT indicated that phosphate esters can significantly decrease heat release rate, total heat release (THR), and smoke production rate. The sample cured by butyl phosphate ester from phosphorus pentoxide, phosphoric acid and butanol showed the best flame retardant performance among all samples. The TGA results showed that phosphate esters could enhance char residues of flame retardant epoxy composites when compared with those of a composite using T31 as a curing agent at high temperature. It may be concluded that good flame retardant properties of flame retardant epoxy composites are related to the formation of a protective phosphorus-rich char layer. These phosphate esters have a good future on flame retardant epoxy composites.

Abstract:Exploration of a versatile additive applicable to various metal catalysts for polymerization of 1,3-diene, unfortunately, has been unsuccessful due to the distinctive nature of metal centre. A novel class of phosphates derived from biosourced Guaiacol, p-Eugenol, Vanillin and Mequinol have been designed and synthesized in this work. These compounds can work well with iron, chromium and molybdenum catalysts as additive to actively catalyse butadiene polymerization. It has been revealed that the use of them is critically important to induce 1,2 enriched insertion along with a syndiotactic mode throughout the polymerization. An array of polybutadienes differs in not only the 1,2 incorporation, tacticity, but molecular weight, thus materials spanning from soft viscoelastic to tough elastomers and rigid plastics, have been obtained. It is rare that introduction of additive confers the catalysts so impressive performances simultaneously, including wider metal adaptability, high catalytic activity, mainly 1,2 regio- and tunable stereoselectivity, and strong thermal tolerance. DFT calculation is also carried out to shed light on the role of the ortho-positioned methoxyl moiety.

Abstract:Polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (PC/ABS) blend is an important industrial plastic alloy due to its overwhelming advantages.However,the addition of ABS causes deterioration of flame retardancy for PC/ ABS blend,therefore,it's significant to improve flammability of PC/ABS blends.For the demand of environmental protection,aryl phosphate ester is an effective substitute for halogen flame retardant.In this research,aromatic phosphate ester (TPP) and alpha zirconium phosphate (α-ZrP) were used as flame retardant for PC/ABS blends,and their thermal properties and flame retardancy were studied.Thermogravimetic (TG) analysis in nitrogen atmosphere indicate that TPP and α-ZrP could markedly enhance the thermal stability,especially at high temperature.TPP and α-ZrP do not show great synergistic effect in vertical burning (UL 94) and limited oxygen index (LOI) tests.However,the cone calorimetry results indicate that TPP and α-ZrP not only enhance the flame retardancy of PC/ ABS,but extend the burning time and slow down the process of combustion.
Synthesis of Polymerizable Methyl Acryloyl Oxygen Propyl Phosphate Ester

Abstract:A phosphate ester reactive emulsifier is synthesized via multi steps reaction which uses phosphorus oxychloride, hydroxypropyl acrylate(HPA), and triethylamine as reactants. The optimum technical conditions are acquired by discussing different feed ratios, reaction time and temperature. The product is characterized by IR spectroscopy. The results indicate that the yield of methyl acryloyl oxygen propyl phosphate ester will reach 98.80% when the feed ratio is: n(POCl3)∶n(triethylamine) : n(HPA) = 1.1∶1.3∶1, the reaction time is 1.5h, the reaction temperature is 25℃, and the second step hydrolysis reaction temperature is 0 to 15℃, and the hydrolyzed material ratio is n(intermediate product)∶n(triethylamine)∶n(water) = 1∶1. 4∶1. 2.

Abstract:The aim is to study and improve the route of the synthesis of azoxystrobin.Using 2-hydroxyphenylacetic acid as a starting material,azoxystrobin is synthesized through the successive reactions of esterification,methoxymethlenation,ester exchanging,and twice Ullmann condensation with 4,6-dichloropyrimidine and 2-hydroxy-benzonitrile.Total yield is up to 59%under the optimal reaction conditions.The improved synthetic process is simple and safe,producing less industrial waste,the raw materials are easily obtained,which is suitable for industrial production.
