Abstract:Genetic recombination does not occur in meiosis of female in Lepidoteran species. The heterozygote genotypes in F2 population in this type of species are different from those in general species in which the genetic recombination occurs in meiosis of both male and female. For this reason, in this type of species such as the silkworm, backcross population is generally used to map dominant-recessive markers. The maps are not, however, desirable and entire because all of the markers on the maps come from the no recurrent parent. The consequence is that number of the markers used for map in backcross population is never more than half in intercross population. On the other hand, there has been so far no mapping method and software that can be used to map dominant-recessive markers obtained from F2 population of lepidopteran species. To resolve this problem, two-point and three-point maximum likelihood methods for mapping dominant-recessive markers using F2 population of this type of species were developed in this paper. At the same time, we also gave a general method for constructing the gene linkage map of this type of species using F2 population.
