Abstract:The southwest Fujian depression belt is rich in mineral resources, and is an important locality of metal and nonmetal resources such as iron, copper, gold, coal, limestone, etc. Zhangkeng-Zhangyanxia area of Yongding County is in the southwest part of this belt. By systematical geological and geophysical works on the existed main orebody, new ore fields have been found. Geological and geophysical characters in Zhangkeng-Zhangyanxia copper-polymetal deposit is discussed and the deposit is considered preliminarily as a multi-genesis stratabound type. The deposit is formed by a large-scale skarnization due to the igneous magma intruded into the Carboniferous and early Permian carbonate rock, and replaced by hydrothermal ore-forming fluids along faults and decollement layer in carbonate rocks.
