Abstract:Seafloor observatory network is a subject service for undersea exploration and researching work.To realize condition monitoring,data measuring and the transmission preservation of other communicating signals,it is especially important to design and study monitor system of bank basestation and series data monitor system.Focusing on the features of Seafloor observatory,the paper realized working condition monitor,measurement transmission with VC and SQL-Serve technique,as well as share monitor data with Internet with the help of Web technique. Besides viewing of the long term and stableness features of seafloor observatory network,the paper put forward improving method and design idea,which were proved effective and reliable by practical running. Design and Implementation of the Seabed Dynamic Environment Monitoring System Based on Ocean Observing Network

Abstract:The seabed dynamic environmental monitoring system is an important subject of the ocean observatory testing system in the South China Sea. On the basis of the ocean observing network built during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, the stability and reliability of the system have been improved, with a series of subsystems designed and applied, including the CAN field bus communication, ARM dual redundancy backup, Modem acoustic gateway, DC/DC parallel redundancy and backup battery. It mainly carries the acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP), CTD developed by the National Ocean Technology Center and high-precision pressure sensors, and integrates the shore-based monitoring and feedback subsystem, control and data acquisition subsystem, and communication and power management subsystem, achieving long-term real-time stable monitoring on the bottom boundary velocity profile, turbulent velocity field, temperature, salinity, pressure and other ocean dynamic factors. Through experiments and testing, the system is proved both stable and reliable, and conducive to the expansion and integration of sensors, which provides a reliable verification and observation node for the seabed observing network.

Abstract:Aiming at shooting the shortage of real-time and continuous coral reef ecological environment monitoring technology,this study put forward a solution of coral reef online monitoring system.It connects the seabed system by submarine cable and transfers the data to shore base stations,then shore based control system transmits the monitoring data to the control center through ground networks,It realizes the long-term,real-time,in situ and on-line observation of the factors such as temperature,salinity,depth,chlorophyll,dissolved oxygen,pH,turbidity,velocity profile and underwater HD video.Through deploying the system in the target site and business operation demonstration,we have got a lot of first-hand ecological environment data.It has important scientific significance for further assessing the actual situation and analyzing the evolution of coral reef community.

Abstract:Subsea in-situ dynamic environmental monitoring is very important.Data management system is its core module.ARM9 is the core of its hardware.Its software platform is Linux2.4.20.The module integrates three deep sea instruments and provides realtime and reliable control interface and data interface between coastal base station and deep sea instruments.The module is validated to provide real-time data to coastal base station according to the protocol.Finally,some problems need to be solved are brought forward.

Abstract:The measurement and control system of exiting conventional CTD sampler suffers from low automation level and complicated operation.In order to solve this problem,a measurement and control system based on LabVIEW for gas-tight deep-sea water sampler was developed.The measurement principle of temperature,salinity and depth was studied.The hardware and software of the system were designed.In the year of 2009,the measurement and control system worked well during the HY4-2009-2 cruise of "Hai Yang Si Hao" research vessel in South China Sea.Quick and precise control of the gas-tight deep-sea water sampler was achieved.The acquisition,processing,display and storage of temperature,salinity and depth parameters were implemented conveniently in real-time.The results of sea trials show that the system features high measurement and control precision,good stability and reliability,high automation level and easy operation.The system is appreciated by researchers.Furthermore,the proposed method can also be used widely in the measurement and control systems of various oceanic instruments and equipment.

Abstract:In this paper, a long-term ship-monitoring system is designed based on a vector hydrophone. It enables the detection and localization of ships at sea. This system equipped with a vector hydrophone is installed on an ocean buoy or an off-shore platform, and uses a field programmable gate array (FPGA) and a microcontroller as the control cores to automatically collect ocean noise for further analysis. The detection of ship presence or absence is achieved through sound energy calculation using the vector hydrophone signal, followed by a comparison with an adaptive threshold. Additionally, cross spectrum analysis is applied to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of the ship. The system's performance is evaluated through simulations and sea trials. Their results demonstrates its capability of target detection and DOA estimation. This study is expected to meet the practical requirements for intelligent ocean monitoring applications.

Abstract:Deep sea sampling machine is an important tool for deep sea mining of cobalt crusts, in order to accomplish the sampling mission of mineral resources undersea. According to the design requirements of a deep sea ore sampling machine, this paper introduces the whole architecture of this sampling machine, analyzes its function and presents the software development of a surface monitoring system by using Visual Studio and database tools. In order to address the problem of heterogeneous communication nodes and remote real-time communications with multiple equipments, the hybrid communication technology by adopting the serial Modbus and Ethernet Modbus network in parallel is firstly proposed to accommodate heterogeneous communications with multi-node accesses. Secondly, the dual channel Ethernet communication technology is adopted, which improves the real-time performances of the whole monitoring system under complicated communication situations. Finally, the effectiveness of the monitoring system for deep sea ore sampling machine is verified by the simulation test and the hardware in loop test, which provides a reference to the development of other similar marine monitoring system.

Abstract:The software of the data monitor and storage system(DMSS) of autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV) is introduced.The structure of the AUV,the data monitor task and data storage task are described in details,and the data exchange between the two tasks is also presented.The DMSS is used in the-hardware-in-loop simulation and outfield test.The experimental results show that reliability and accuracy of the DMSS meet the practical requirements.

Abstract:Based on the structural characteristics and preliminary design of SFT prototype in Qiandao Lake, this. paper presents the health monitoring system and subsystems of SFT prototype, which consists of sensor subsystem, date collection and transmission subsystem, data process and analysis subsystem and elevation and control subsystem. The determination of monitoring parameters, sensors arrangement and acquisition-transmission-storage of monitoring date are discussed. Finally, the index system is established and corresponding evaluation method is put forward.

Abstract:Aiming at problems of difficult to maintain static monitoring node of Baiyangdian wetland, a method that using unmanned ship as dynamic monitoring node is proposed. The program used GPS technology and GPRS technology to achieve unmanned ship positioning and monitoring, and mainly consisted of ship unit and control center. The ship unit collected and transfered the unmanned ship position information, and received commands to control the movement of the ship. The control center was a PC software using C# language in Visual Studio 2010 development platform, and displayed unmanned ship position informationon on the electronic map, and transfered the control commands. Experiments showed that the system has advantages, such as stable and reliable operation, easy control, and simple maintenance.

Abstract:This paper presents a real-time monitoring system which is comprised of field data logging subsystem, wireless communication subsystem and on-station control center. The real-time monitoring system is applied for field data acquisition of marine environmental, parameters, so as to provide key data for research both on the prediction and the cause of marine hazard. The wireless data transmission technique based on GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) facilitates the application of the system, since it eliminates the complexities of arranging wire and wire maintenance. Abstract:Underwater vehicle is an important equipment for ocean monitoring and exploitation, and has been attracting more and more attentions from academic researchers and practitioners. Deep-sea unmanned submersible is a special type of underwater vehicle. This paper designs the monitoring and communication system for a deep-sea unmanned submersible using LABVIEW. The monitoring system includes initialization interface module, state display module and remote intervene module. The communication system consists of WIFI communication module, iridium communication module, underwater acoustic communication, and communication protocol between the monitoring computer on the surface ship and the submersible. The designed monitoring and communication system will be very helpful for operating the submersible in a safe and efficient way.

Abstract:An extensible remote monitoring system for a seafloor observatory network in Laizhou Bay was established to realize long-term, continuous and on-line monitoring for a marine ranching environment. This paper deals with data communication, device management and data quality control. A control model is introduced that is structured into four layers, enabling bidirectional information flow. Based on the control model, the standardized communication protocol and device object model-oriented dynamic management method are designed as plug-and-play, for data processing and control of a large number of devices. An improved data quality control method is proposed to reduce the data error rate. The monitoring system was developed based on socket network programming, MySQL database technologies and modular ideas. The seafloor observatory network was successfully deployed in Laizhou Bay marine ranching. The experimental results demonstrate that the monitoring system obtains better performance. The proposed algorithms can also be used in many other similar systems with adaptive requirements.

Abstract:This paper describes a long-range, real-time monitoring and positioning float system based on STM32, which is used to monitor the position information of the equipment in marine engineering. The system adopts a solar power supply to replenish power for the system. It combines the charging control circuit and battery protection module to build a power management module to dynamically adjust the power supply strategy and the system load to realize the long-term operation of the system. Through the LoRa module, the information collected by the pressure sensor, temperature sensor, and GPS positioning module is transmitted to the remote console to realize real-time data collection, sending, and ringing. Finally, the system was tested. The experimental results show that the real-time monitoring float system solves the problem of difficult positioning of equipment and other equipment in marine engineering after falling into the sea. It reduces the difficulty of searching for marine equipment and provides more effective information for marine search and rescue.

The results demonstrate that the design makes signal process more convenient and rapid. It can precisely get and process echo data of shoals in real time. We have got the satisfied results. It is applicable to sea and many other outdoor occasions.
