TAXONOMICAL STUDIES ON ARGIDAE (HYMENOPTERA) OF CHINA IV. REVISION OF TANYPHATNIDEINI FROM CHINA WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF TWO NEW SPECIES

Abstract:This paper is the 4th one of a series of studies on Argidae of China and describes 2 ge nera and 5 species of the tribe Tanyphatnideini, Athermantinae, including 2 new species and 2 new records from China. Tanyphatnidea nualsriae Togashi and Pampsilota interstitialis Cameron are 2 new records of China. A new combination, Tanyphatnidea sinensis (Kirby) is proposed from Pampsilota Konow. Type specimens are deposited in the Insect Collection of Central South Forestry College, Zhuzhou, Hunan, China, if not otherwise mentioned. 1. Pampsilota scutellis, sp. nov. (Figs.8-13) This new species is similar to Pampsilota interstitialis Cameron but differs from it in the long and slender antenna, strongly elevated mesoscutellum and penis valve with a narrow neck. Holotype: ♀,Hunan: Yanling, 26-VII-1995, Zheng Boyi; paratypes: 1♂,same as the holotype; 1♂,Guizhou: Libo, 800m, 02-VIII-1995, Wei Meicai; 1♀, Zhejiang: Moganshan, 16-VII-1991; 6♀♀4♂♂, Zhejiang: West Tianmushan, 03-VIII-1984, Shen Lirong; 1♀, Sichuan: Omei, 08-VIII-1980, He Junhua; 1♂, Guangxi: Longsheng, 21-VI-1982, He Junhua (Type specimens collected by Shen Lirong and He Junhua are kept in the Insect Collection of Zhejiang Agricultural University). 2. Pampsilota cenchra, sp. nov. (Figs.5-7) This new species can be distinguished from its congeners in small cenchri and CD=1. Holotype: ♀,Hubei: Jiufengshan, 07-VII-1994, Jiang Shihong.
