A TAXONOMIC STUDY ON CHINESE SPECIES OF THE SUBGENUS USUIRONUS ISHIHARA (HOMOPTERA, CICADELLIDAE, DELTOCEPHALINAE)

Abstract:The genus Handinus is represented in China by four species, Handianus(Usuironus)limbicosta (Jacobi), H.(U.)limbifer(Matsumura), H.(U.)maculaticeps (Reuter)and H.(U.)ogikubonis(Matsumura), U. quadrimaculatus Cai et Shen, 1999 is proposed here as a new synonym of H.(U.)limbifer(Matsumura, 1902). Moreover, a key to Chinese species, generic diagnosis, data of examined specimens, geographical distributions of species are provided in this paper. Morphological description and diagnostic figures of each species are also included. The specimens examined are deposited in the Staatliches Museum fur Tierkunde in Dresden(SMTD), Institute of Zoology, Academic Sinica in Beijing(IZAS), Zhongshan University in Guangzhou(ZSU), Nankai University in Tianjin(NKU), Shanghai Entomological Museum, Chinese Academy of Sciences(SEMCAS), which are indicated after specimens record, and also in the Entomological Museum, Northwest Sci-Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry(not indicated).
