Abstract:Copperas prepared from pyrite cinders was put into purified waste ammonium sulfate solution from iron yellow produced by ammonia method, and the concentrations of the FeSO_4 and (NH_4)_2SO_4 were 0.346 mol·L~ -1 and 0.173 mol·L~ -1 . The white slurry was obtained by means that the mixed solution of ferrous sulfate and ammonium sulfate (the mole ratio was 1.15∶1) was added into 0.200 mol·L~ -1 sodium ferrocyanide solution, and the reacting temperature had been at 80℃ for 10 mins. Ammonium iron blue was prepared after the white slurry had been boiled at 100 ℃ for 1 h, added 50% sulfuric acid then boiled at 100℃ for 2 h, and oxidized at 70 ℃ for 3 h by 10% NaClO_3 solution. Moreover, the powders of ammonium iron blue was obtained after filtrating, washing, drying and grinding the products. The quality of ammonium iron blue was beyond the China Standard (GB 1860-88 and HG/T 3001-1999). SEM experimental result proved that the particle size of ammonium iron blue was uniform and about 20 nm. XRD experimental result showed that ammonium iron blue was the cubic crystal structure.
