Abstract:Objective To study the association between levels of serum vitamin D and early miscarriage in childbearing aged women so as to provide theoretical basis and new thinking for preventing early miscarriage .Methods Thirty-five non-gravid cases with recurrent early miscarriage history and 35 non-gravid women with successful pregnancy history were selected .The known reasons leading to miscarriage were excluded .The serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] was measured and analyzed .Results The serum 25(OH)D in non-gravid women with miscarriage history (13 .15 ± 8 .60μg/L ) was significantly lower than that in non-gravid women with successful pregnancy history (36 .44 ± 11 .33μg/L) (t = 9 .69 ,P < 0 .05) .The occurring of insufficient serum 25(OH)D in non-gravid women with miscarriage history was more severe than that in non-gravid women with successful pregnancy history (χ2 = 45 .73 ,P < 0 .05) .There was a close association between low 25(OH)D levels and miscarriage history revealed by Pearson analysis (r = 0 .81 , P < 0 .05) .Conclusion Serum vitamin D level is remarkably lower in childbearing aged women with recurrent miscarriage history .Decreased serum vitamin D level in childbearing aged women may increase the risk for early miscarriage .
