Evaluation on effect of poor vision health education among primary students in Haikou

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of poor vision health education among primary students in Haikou,and to provide evidence for poor vision health education among primary students.Methods A structured questionnaire was given to students with before and after health education,one group before-after health education design was implemented.Results After health education,the knowledge of "the normal vision range" (76.34％),"the cause of the poor vision" (74.97％),"the positive physical exercise can protect eyesight" (78.02％) had significantly increased than before (P ＜0.01),the attitude of "the good eyesight was more important than good grades" (72.13％),"the family education had a necessary to provide vision protection" (79.18％) had significantly increased than before (P ＜ 0.01),the rate of "maintaining the proper reading and writing posture" (73.92％),"reading and writing distance were appropriate" (71.61％),"resting your eyes for a long time" (78.34％) were significantly higher than before (P ＜0.01).There was no significant difference in the poor vision rate (x2 =0.673,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The poor vision health education can enhance students' poor vision prevention knowledge,attitude and health behavior,improve the bad eye behavior.
