Abstract:Objective Based on an analysis of the amount and structural changes of China′s healthcare human resources from 2009 to 2015 ,this paper provided reference for effective deployment of healthcare human resources . Methods Literature review was made to extract data ,and descriptive analysis used to study the dynamics of such human resources from 2009 to 2015 ,calculating the year‐on‐year growth rate and average growth rate per annum of these people .Results From 2009 to 2015 ,the amount of such resources kept growing ,with 7.6% annual grow th rate for the hospitals ,and 2.3% for primary health care institutions. The gap between the two widened from 806 000 in 2009 to 2.53 million persons in 2015 .Noteworthy was the negative growth of village doctors and paramedics .From 2009 to 2014 ,healthcare human resources tended to be younger and younger in general ,except for village doctors who are aging .Conclusions The amount of China′s healthcare human resources keeps increasing since the ongoing healthcare reform ,with the annual growth rate faster in large hospitals than primary institutions. The structure of their age ,gender or education background is improving in general. There are however some structural problems , such as aging village doctors and poor academic health human resources at primary institutions. These call for effective measures taken to solve those structural problems .
