Abstract:Objective To investigate the prevalence of hyperproduction of AmpC β-lactamase and extended-spectrumβ-lactamase (ESBLs) in 71 strains of multi-resistance Acinetobacter and its impact on antimicrobial susceptibility. Methods A modified three-dimensional extract method was used to detect the phenotypes of Acinetobacter strains harboring AmpC β-lactamase and ESBLs. Antimicrobial susceptibility was tested by Kirby-Bauer method. Results Among the 71 strains Acinetobacter, 40 were hyperproduction of AmpC β-lactamase,23 produced ESBLs, 6 produced SSBL, 2 produced non-AmpC non- ESBLsβ-lactamase. Among the 71 isolates, 61 were highly active β-lactamase Acinetobacter Banmanii producers, and they were resistant rate to other antibiotics tested were exceeded 80%, except still highly susceptibilitive to imipenem. Conclusions The prevalence of Ampc lactamase production is higher than ESBLs production in Acinetobacter species. Imipenem should be the first choice in treatment of infectious diseases caused by Acinebacter producing highly active β-lactamase.
