Clinical experience of retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy for adrenal myelolipoma

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the feasibility and the clinical value of retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy for adrenal myelolipoma.Methods The clinical data of 10 case adrenal myelolipoma patients who underwent the retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery were retrospectively analyzed.Results The operation was successful in all patients without intraoperative and postoperative bleeding and injury of abdominal organs and vessels.The operative time was 35-115 min (mean was 67 min);And the intraoperative blood loss was30-190 mL(mean was 75mL).Postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery time was 8-48 h (mean was 22 h).Postoperative activity time 1-2 d (mean was 1.5 d);Drainage tube indwelling time was 2-5 d (mean was 3.6 d).Postoperative hospitalization time was 3-9 d(mean was 15 d).Postoperative pathological diagnosis were adrenal myelolipoma.No tumor recurrence was found during the 1-36 months follow-up.Conclusion Retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy for adrenal myelolipoma is worthy to be extended with advantages of mini-invasion and rapid recovery.
