Abstract:Objective To observe the change of cerebral blood flow (CBF) of soldiers stationed in islands during training in hot and humid environment, so as to put forward theoretical basis for clinical prevention and treatment of heat illness. Methods One hundred recruits under normal ambient temperature (Ta) and relative humidity (RH) 〔(27.4±1.37)℃,(50.25±6.76)%〕,100 recruits under high Ta and RH(≥35℃,≥80%),and another 100 officers and soldiers stationed in the island for 2~3 years under high Ta and RH were studied. All the subjects had 3000 m running within 20 min with 15 kg loas of weapons. Before and after training, CBF of the subjects were detected by transcrainial Doppler(TCD).The data were analyzed among the above three groups, and again according to different body temperatures after training among the above subjects ( ie39 ℃, 39 ℃~40.5 ℃, and ≥40.5 ℃ group ). Results (1) The parameters of CBF were increased in all subjects after training(P0.01) but Vp, Vd, Vm were 13%,26%,and 30% less respectively in high Ta and RH recruits than in normal Ta and RH recruits (P0.01), and 10%, 24%, and 33% less respectively in high Ta and RH recruits than in the same Ta and RH soldiers stationed for 2~3 years (P0.01). (2)The CBF in ≥ 40.5 ℃ body temperature group was lower than that in 39.5 ~ 40.5 ℃ group(P0.01). Conclusion High Ta and RH environment may affect the CBF of soldiers, while those stationed for 2~3 years may have better heat tolerance and adaptability. Higher body temperature after training may affect the CBF.
