Advances on Cryptococcus Laurentii

Abstract:It was reported that the incidence of infection due to Cryptococcus laurentii has increased over the past years, and an increased clinical awareness of such infections appears. Clinical manifestations of Cryptococcus laurentii infections are most often indistinguishable from Cryptococcus neoformans. This article summarizes pathogenesis, characteristics of the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, as well as treatment and drug resistance of Cryptococcus laurentii infection in human, so as to help physicians understand the disease and enhance vigilance, and provide evidence to clinical practice.
