Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of pretreatment with hyperbaric oxygen on the recovery of neural functional in patients with se-vere cerebral injury. Methods A total of 60 patients with severe cerebral injury were allocated in this study,their preadmission Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS)scores were 3 ~ 8 points,they were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in observation group were processed with pretreatment of hyperbaric oxygen one week before the routine treatment,patients in control group were treated by routine treatment,GCS scores and neural function defect rating scale(DRS)scores were compared between patients of these 2 groups before treatment,2 weeks and half year after opera-tion,and Glasgow Outcome Scale(GOS)had been applied for evaluation in half a year after operation. Serum inflammatory cytokines interleukin- 6(IL - 6)and tumor necrosis factor(TNF - α)levels were determined. Results The difference in GCS scores and DRS scores in patients of observation group compared with those of patients in control group before treatment was not statistically significant( P > 0. 05). GCS scores and DRS scores in patients of observation group in 2 weeks after treatment were significantly improved compared with those of controls,and the differ-ence was statistically significant( P < 0. 05). GCS scores and DRS scores in patients of observation group in half a year after treatment were sig-nificantly improved in comparison with those of controls,and the difference was statistically significant( P < 0. 05). The result of GOS rating in patients of observation group in half a year after operation was significantly better than that of patients in control group,and the difference was sta-tistically significant( P < 0. 05). Serum IL - 6 and TNF - α levels after six months of treatment were significantly decreased( P < 0. 05),while the observation group after treatment serum IL - 6 and TNF - α levels were lower than the control group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion The neural functional recovery in patients with severe cerebral injury after hyperbaric oxygen pretreatment has significant curative effect,its effect is signifi-cantly better than that of conventional processing method,thus it may reduce the occurrence of complications and improve the long - term prognosis of these patients,and it is very safe,hence it is worthy to be further clinically applied.
