Impacts of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction on Th1/Th2 Cytokines in the Mice of Internal Accumulation of Stasis and Heat

Abstract:Objective To discuss the regulation of danggui liuhuang decoction on Th1 / Th2 cyto-kines in the mice of recurrent respiratory tract infection(RRTI)differentiated as internal accumulation of sta-sis and heat. Methods ICR mice were randomized into a normal group,a model group,a Chinese medicine group(danggui liuhuang decoction group)and a western medicine group( pidotimod group). In the normal group,the intraperitoneal injection of physical saline was used. In the rest three group,LPS,2 mg/ kg(pre-pared with physical saline,2 mg/ ml)was used for intraperitoneal injection. In the normal group and the model group,the lavage of physical saline was applied. In the Chinese medicine group,danggui liuhuang granules were used. In the western medicine group,pidotimod was used,10ml/(kg·d),continuously for 4 weeks. ELISA method was used to detect the serum expressions of IL - 4,IL - 12,IL - 10 and INF - γ. Results Compared with the normal group,the levels of IL - 4 and IL - 10 were reduced and those of IL - 12 and INF- γ were increased in the model group,indicating the significant difference(P ﹤ 0. 05). Compared with the model group,the levels of IL - 4 and INF - γ were reduced significantly and those of IL - 12 and IL - 10 were improved in the Chinese medicine group,indicating the significant difference(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion Danggui liuhuang decoction regulates Th1 / Th2 cytokines in the mice of RRTI differentiated as internal accu-mulation of stasis and heat. It up - regulates not only IL - 12 of Th1 cytokines,but also IL - 10 of Th2 cyto-kines so as to control the occurrence of RRTI.
