Clinical Research of Improvement of Motor Function of Lower Limbs in Spastic Cerebral Palsy with Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine

Abstract:Objective TodiscusstheclinicaleffectivetherapeuticmethodofintegratedChineseand westernmedicineforspasticcerebralpalsy.Methods Onehundredandtwentychildrenwererandomizedin-to a treatment group and a control group,60 cases in each one.In the control group,the conventional rehabili-tation was applied after the selective posterior rhizotomy(SPR).In the treatment group,on the basic treatment as the control group,the local herbal steaming bathing therapy was given in the lower limbs.The gross motor function and the different value before and after treatment were evaluated in the two groups.The overall effi-cacywascomparedbetweenthetwogroups.Results Thetotaleffectiveratewas96.67%inthetreatment group and was 86.67% in the control group,indicating the significant difference in comparison(P<0.05). In the self-comparison,the difference in the gross motor function evaluation was significant(P<0.05,P<0.01);after treatment,in comparison between the two groups,the value in the treatment was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).In comparison of the value difference before and after evaluation,the result inthetreatmentgroupwasbetterthanthatinthecontrolgroup(P<0.01).Conclusion Thelumbosacral SPR combined with local herbal steaming and bathing therapy effectively reduces muscle tone and improves motor function in the patients of spastic cerebral palsy and deserves to be promoted in clinic.
