Analysis of the Status Quo of Statistical Work in Provincial Administrations of TCM in China

Abstract:Abstracts:Objective Based on the investigation of the status quo of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) statistical survey work among China’s provincial administrations of TCM, this paper aims to reveal the current situation and existing problems to make relevant policy recom-mendations for solving the problems.Methods A questionnaire survey was carried out among 31 provincial administrations of TCM in Chi-na,including the methods of statistical work, the main sources of the statistical information of Chinese Medicine, the statistics report system of Chinese Medicine, etc.Results Among the 31 provincial administrations of TCM, only 29.03% of the provinces have offices or staff re-sponsible for TCM statistical survey work, 32.36% of the provinces have a provincial TCM special statistical reporting system, and 16.13%of the provinces has established a whole provincial TCM statistical survey system.Conclusion A lack of TCM statistical agencies and staff, backward platform for TCM statistics, complex data sources of statistical analysis is in existence, there is a need of establishing a comprehen-sive TCM statistical survey system.
