Abstract:Objective To analyze the effects of preoperative aerosol inhalation on postoperative pulmonary complications in patients undergoing thoracic surgery .Methods We searched the Wangfang ,VIP and Chi-nese national knowledge infrastructure database (CNKI) ,Chinese biomedical medicine disc (CBMdisc) , PubMed ,Web of Science ,The Cochrane Library to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) related to preoperative aerosol inhalation on postoperative pulmonary complications in patients undergoing thoracic surgery from establishment to December 2016 .Two reviewers independently assessed the methodological quality of included RCTs .RevMan 5 .3 was used for meta-analysis of these eligible RCTs .Results Totally 9 RCTs and 804 cases were included .Meta-analysis showed that there was statistical difference between the two groups in postoperativecomplications of atelectasis [RR=0 .28 ,95% CI (0 .15 ,0 .51) ,P<0 .01] and pulmonary infections[RR=0 .25 ,95% CI(0 .13 ,0 .48) ,P<0 .01] .Conclusions The evidence suggests that preoperative aerosol inhalation can reduce the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications of atelec-tasis and etc in patients undergoing thoracic surgery .
