Application of group social skills training in rehabilitation of chronic schizophrenia patients

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the effect of group social skills training on rehabilitation of inpatients with chronic schizophrenia.Methods:A total of 80 cases of inpatients with chronic schizophrenia in line with the di-agnostic criteria of schizophrenia in international classification of diseases ICD 10 were randomly divided into study group and control group.The patients in control group adopted the routine drug treatment and care,the patients in study group were given group social skills training for 1 2 weeks on the basis of drug treatment and care.Before training,at the end of 4th week,at the end of 8th weekend ,at the end of 12th week,two groups of patients were assessed and compared by using positive and negative symptom scale,inpatients with chronic schizophrenia social functional assessment scale and rehabilitation effect rating scale of psychiatric inpatients. Results:Group social skills training achieved initial success at the end of 8th week.At the end of 12th week, there was statistically significant difference in PANSS score,the social function defect level of SSSI scale and IPROS score (P<0.05).Conclusion:On the basis of drug treatment and care,inpatients with chronic schizo-phrenia accepted group social skills training and the token reinforcement behavior therapy was carried out for them,it can improve the social skill defects and social function defects of patients,improve the negative symp-toms,enhance the curative effect of rehabilitation,contribute to the psychiatric rehabilitation of chronic schizo-phrenia inpatients.
