Abstract:Objective To study the effects of adaptive training on prone position before surgery in improving the scoliosis surgery patients′respiratory and circulatory function, preventing pressure sore. Methods Eighty patients with scoliosis surgeries were randomly divided into control group (n=40)and training group (n=40).The training group was given adaptive training on prone position before their surgeries, while the control group was given regular visit.Their breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation were measured on three days before surgeries, after the prone position placement,at the beginning of the surgeries, two hours after surgeries beginning, at the end of surgeries. Moreover, the incidence of the pressure sores resulted from long-term pressing were measured. Results The respiratory frequency, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure in the training group were lower than that in the control group, and heart rate and blood oxygen saturation were higher than that in the control group. The incidence of pressure sores in the training group was lower than that in the control group (χ2 = 4.27 ,P <0.05 ).Conclusion Adaptive training on the prone position on patients with scoliosis surgery can significantly improve their respiratory and circulatory function, reduce the incidence of pressure sore.
