Abstract:Objective To identify the effects of early progressive functional exercises on upper limb lymphed-ema after breast cancer surgery. Methods Databases of PubMed, Web of Science, LISTA, Library of Congress, Acad Search Prem, Cochrane, CBM, Wanfang Data, CNKI and VIP were retrieved from 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2015. The selection of literatures, quality evaluation and data extraction were completed by two independent researchers. Revman5. 3 software was employed to perform meta-analysis. Results A total of 9 randomized controlled tri-als were included and were divided into different groups according to the corresponding follow-up time, namely 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months and above. Study results showed that the incidence of suffering upper limb lymphedema of patients in intervention group 1 month ( Z=5. 83 , P<0. 00001 ) , 3 months ( Z=3. 73 , P=0. 0002 ) , and 6 months and above ( Z=3. 10 , P=0. 002 ) after surgery was all lower than that of the patients of control group and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0. 05 ) . Conclusion The early progressive functional exercises have positive effects on improving upper limb lymphedema after breast cancer surgery, and it's long-term effects were also satisfied.
