Progress in the treatment of children's hepatoblastoma

Abstract:Objective:To summarize the progress of diagnosis and treatment of Children's hepatoblastoma (HB) in recent years.Method:Literatures about the recent researches on diagnosis and treatment of Children's HB were reviewed according to the results searched from PubMed database,Springer database,CNKI,and so on.Result:Malignant tumor in childhood is not a common clinical disease,of which HB is more rare.Surgical resection has been the primary treatment for children with HB.However,about 80％ of tumors cannot be surgically removed at the time of diagnosis.The prognosis of patient is poor and the survival rate is only 20％ to 30％.With the introduction of neoadjuvant chemotherapy,the treatment of HB has been transformed from traditional surgical treatment to multidisciplinary treatment based on surgery and chemotherapy.The resectability has been greatly improved,and the long-term survival rate of children has also been significantly improved.Conclusion:Children's HB is rare,often without specific clinical symptoms.The diagnostic rate can be improved based on preoperative evaluation of age,AFP level and enhanced CT scan.Surgical resection combined with chemotherapy is the main treatment.And multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment is believed to result in a good prognosis.With the advance in surgical techniques and further optimization of chemotherapy regimens,the prognosis of children's HB will be further improved.
