Abstract:Objective To study the present situation and related factors of sleep disorders for ICU patients to provide evidence for improving their sleeping quality.Method Choose patients in ICU of emergency department, internal medicine department and surgical department from a high ranked hospital by convenience sampling method and investigate them by Richards-Campbell Sleep Questionnaire (RCSQ) and self-designed questionnaire on related factors of patients' sleep. Then collect the information. Analyze the information received by SPSS 19.0 soft ware. Make single factor analysis. Then make multiple regression analysis on factors with statistic significance as independent variables.Result Patients' total score on RCSQ is 55.03~58.92. Single factor analysis shows that patients' sleeping quality has negative correlation with pain, poor breath, other discomfort (such as cough and dizzy), alarming of medical equipments, talking and telephone of medical staff, sounds from other patients and sounds of walking, transporting and rescuing (r:-0.161~-0.257,P<0.05). Patients' sleeping quality has correlation with different mechanical ventilation models (r:0.175,P<0.05). Multiple regression analysis shows that sleeping depth has correlation with pain, poor breath, other discomfort and and sounds of walking, transporting and rescuing (P<0.05), sleep latency has correlation with pain and poor breath (P<0.05), awakening has correlation with pain, poor breath and sounds of walking, transporting and rescuing (P<0.05), sleep efficiency has correlation with pain and poor breath (P<0.05), the total sleeping quality has correlation with pain, poor breath, other discomfort and and sounds of walking, transporting and rescuing (P<0.05).Conclusion Sleeping quality of ICU patients is poor, which is related to pain, poor breath, other dis-comfort (such as cough and dizzy) and sounds of walking, transporting and rescuing.
